what a wonderful teacher with a gift. teaching by song is a great way to get youngsters to remember things and it's fun too. way to go!

Great idea! I want to use songs with my kids this summer. Where can I buy the music in Hawaii?

Thanks Nancy for the really nice article, and to the readers for such kind comments. Rob, the CD-book sets are currently available from Bookends in Kailua and the Borders stores in Waikele and Windward Mall. The "Wash Your Hands" song is currently only available (free) from my website, www.edutunes.com .

I am so excited to have a chance to make a difference for children. I am fortunate to have this exposure. I'd like to take this opportunity to say that Hawaii teachers are some of the hardest working people I know. Every teacher I know works for countless hours outside paid time and spends hundreds to thousands of dollars on their students each year. We have the lowest pay-to-cost-of-living ratio in the nation, and, like all state workers, we are facing the possibility of furloughs/pay cuts. I hope people will realize how hard we all work and support teachers--and Hawaii's children--during this challenging economic time. Thanks!

Sounds like Gene Kelly's "SINGING IN THE RAIN". Very touching aricle! Might even help folks like myself hit the right tones.
