Waukegan cuts funding to municipal band
Waukegan Mayor Bob Sabonjian recently decided to cut all funding for the city's municipal band effective immediately, leaving the band's members to play the last three concerts of the summer season as unpaid volunteers.

Libertyville has had a municipal band for over 31 years and it's always been volunteer. Sorry to see the Waukegan Municipal Band suffer but I'm sure the city of Waukegan will save a couple thousand this year. Maybe it will save a few firefighter and police jobs? Yeah, right.
