Yea waukegan, round lake, mundelien, vernon hills, gurnee and north chicago are full of illegal aliens and they bring there kids and have more kids. plus of course we have the cook county residents fleeing the communist crook county and they have kids so the local schools cant sustain the ammount of people comming to to lake county.

Forget it. I've lived in Lake County my whole life. The property taxes are insanely high with 80% of it going to marginally performing schools. There was a reassessment of property values last year, resulting in property tax increases between 10 and 15% this year, all while actual property values declined 10 to 25%. I will never vote for a sales tax increase and neither will the majority of residents in Lake County. I can no longer afford to support the school system's insatiable annual appetite for large sums of my static income.

Shelve it? As far as I'm concerned they can *shove* it.

If the schools need money, have the parents of the students pay it, rather than all of Lake County

The last thing school officials would want is for this to be on the November ballot when voter turn out is high. Much better to put in in front of voters when turn out is low. Even if the sales tax gets approved, will property taxes be lowered--highly doubtful. Go to the tax assessor's web site and see homeowners with a $225K house paying $7,000 a year in property tax is criminal.

Quit wasting my money on these little illegal alien criminals. If you stopped making Americans pay triple in taxes so you can give those animals everything for free you would have plenty of money.

The teachers' union and trial lawyers control this state. Until we elect genuine conservative people to govt. nothing will change. Blago and most of his predecessors (both "parties") have looted Illinois for their personal gain. The citizens are simply in the way.
