He didn't live in a trailer. He was a nice respectful boy on his way to see a girl. Guess you have nothing to appreciate in your life or anything better to do than trash a kid you didn't know and disrespect a tragic loss. Today is his 18th birthday bye the way so maybe you'd you'd like to bring your negative trash talking lonely self to the event that will still go on to celebrate his life. Hope you feel a little better about yourself someday!

I didn't know him and I don't know his family but don't you think if he died by speeding or by someone else's hands it would still be the same grief? A seventeen year old child is dead. Pain is pain regardless. God forbid his parents stumble across this, how would you think they would feel. Imagine yourself in their shoes. Your child just passed away and you find idiotic remarks about his death and mocking him. Myspaces today mean nothing. Pictures are put up to make them look "cool." Don't come back and try to tell me that I don't know anything about Myspace or being seventeen. I am still only eighteen myself. Do you even know the child's parents? How can you say that they weren't there. Like I said before I do not know the family but I am not going to automatically say "oh well if the parents did this." This was a tragic accident. I highly doubt the parents are sitting there saying whose fault it was they are trying to deal with the loss of their child. Have you nothing better to do with your life than to sit on forums and belittle things? I feel sorry for you, obviously there is nothing better in your life than to mock others.
I must admit

Typical speeding kid on a bike. This happens all the time. At least he didn't kill or hurt anyone else. Maybe someone will learn from this stunt, but I doubt it.

You people are disgusting! I know the family & they are wonderful people. I didn't know Ben but it doesn't matter what his myspace says. He was a child who was taken too soon. Let his family grieve & mind your own business!

That's right, it didn't matter. No one else was hurt.

To all the ignorant and highly mentally imparied individuals who dared to put negative and hurtful comments about someone they knew nothing about I feel sorry for you. You are the so-called scum as you put it, as well as the arm-pit of America. Your stench of hatred is actually quite scary. I doubt any of you even have siblings, a brother, a boyfriend or a son for that matter who ever has, had or might have ridden a motorcycle. I know many people who have motorcycles and they drive them all respectfully and abide by all the laws. GET A LIFE LOSERS, Get a job or get a hobby. It's pretty pathetic that you have time to sit around getting off by reading about other peoples grief and then having the lack of common sense to leave such cruel and intentionally hurtful comments. I hope you find Jesus because with that attitude towards people you are gonna need him to save your butt from soemone just as hateful and idiotic as you.

Ignorance lies with those who ride recklessly and without concern. Even you can see that when you ride responsibly your chances of survival are much greater. Yes, I do have friends and family who have ridden. I too, have ridden. We were careful and didn’t do stupid things to get killed.
Posting about careless people is safer than killing oneself, no?

I have never met such a bunch of hateful people.

I have no idea where this accident happened sine I have no idea where
rt-25 is,eagle road and I don't recognize the area code.

It is easy to be hurtful when you can't see the pain in the soul of others or the tears flowing down their face.

It is easy to be hateful and mean when you can hide behind your keyboard.

After reading the story, it is obvious to me that this was a case of an inexperienced driver who made one wrong decision.

In Penna (where I live) the MSF keeps drilling into us to expect a collision at any 'intersection'.
The MSF describes 'intersection' as
"anyplace where there is the potential for a vehicle to cross your path."

This 17 YO either never LEARNED that lesson or became overconfident and didn't 'calculate' the driveway.

I remember, first hand, that at the age of 17 death will never find me.

Decades later, after surviving a crash much like this one, I realize that death is always on your heels and the only way to beat him
(temporarily anyway)
is to keep moving and try to outsmart him though all this does is buy you some time.

In Penna , the MSF also tells us "consider the consequences of your actions".
This young rider did not "consider" for the possibility of a car entering from a driveway (consequences).

Inexperience and overconfidence did this young guy in.

I hope other cyclists read this story.
It could save their life.

I urge EVERY cyclist to attend the
Motorcycle Saftey Foundations
"riders course'.
In Penna, there is no charge for Pa residents to attend.

I wish Marie would re-visit the forum and write to me.
