To all the workers at the Casino Aztar, I was wondering if you can tell me what you think of your job and management team? I'd appreciate any info from any worker especially the workers in the casino who work the table games. Thanks.

As a Deckhand I'll admit the job sucks. Used to be decent but now we have new managers who think they rule the world and we are just slaves. But every department even Table games has those kind of managers. They just find the biggest pinheads who nobody likes and give them a management job.

Aztar employees are some of the most miserable people on earth.

I will agree with bigz. They promote anyone if they're remotely liked by an upper management person. My department has the worst lead in creation. I'm looking to get out. It's worn me the hell out.

I'm sorry to hear that. If you don't mind me asking, do you work the table games?

You know the person who started this thread is Mike Miller, the table games director. Don't say more than you want him to use against you.

Don't know who Mike Miller is but if he's on here asking questions like this then that shows he already knows there's a lot of unhappy people in that place and it also shows he needs a hobby outside of that place

Hey bor. It's a little bit of everything: Painting, sanding, steam cleaning, garbage, adjusting boat wires to keep casino from floating away, watching out for incoming barges or anything in river like people who need help, fixing leaks, etc. Basically a little bit of everything.

If everyone is this miserable in their jobs perhaps they should seek other employment. In fact, some of your coworkers who actually enjoy working will be happy to see you go. You're on Topix posting comments about how bad all the drama is, and yet here you are only creating more of that drama you supposedly hate? Maybe more people should be thankful to have steady employment. If you changed your mindset perhaps you may even enjoy yourselves. Don't speak for everyone...some of us like what we do, who we work with, and are thankful for the food it puts on our dinner table every night.

Yeah and as soon as you need a favor or as soon as you say something your supervisor doesn't like you'll be out the door, so lets see if you're still team Aztar in the WorkOne lobby. I've seen a lot of people who "enjoyed" what they did at Aztar in there with pompoms!*sarcastic and evil laughter*

cute....but I never claimed to be "team Aztar". In fact, I was claiming to be pro-work and anti-bitching. People need to quit crying about all the problems they create for themselves and blaming everyone else for their shortcomings. Maybe if you performed your job a little better you wouldn't be spending so much time in the WorkOne office.(theres my sarcastic evil laughter to you sir). Hope your work search goes well this week.

It's not sir, it's ma'am. And I've managed to pull a better job and maintain a 4.0 gpa, by the way something I could've have never done at Aztar, because they wouldn't even work with my schedule so I could further my education. And they claim they want you to grow with company? Please. Grow old and miserable at best. So, I had to move on. Period. And I'm going to say what I need to say when I need to say it, it's not bitching, it's honesty..if anyone doesn't like it..well.._______*fill in the blank*
