Won't, in my opinion, happen. There was no intent to kill a human.

Is there no law saying, "Thou shalt not discharge a firearm within a certain distance of buildings?"

Wasn't this round (.357) developed for it's penetration, and isn't it reputed to not ricochet?

I'd say "Bubba Shot The Jukebox", hitting exactly where he was aiming.

NO CRIMINAL CHARGES wrote:
Yes let's lock up this lady for years as many have pointed out for accidently have a bullet miss the dog and ricochet into a woman on the other side of a fence.
We need to lock her types up and keep the child molesters, repeat felons, i.e. rapists, robbers, drug dealers, and thieves on the streets because we don't have enough prison space. For all of you that are whining that this woman should go to prison for a long time ... No more "outrage" when a three time covicted felon ends up murdering a child in cold pre-meditated blood.
NO criminal charges are warranted here. Sue her in civil court and she will lose her rear-end.
And if anything is criminal it is the fact that in Indiana neighbors animals can come and go on your private property without penalty. THat is what is criminal, we land owners have no rights anymore.
So violating leash laws is a more serious crime than recklessly shooting a firearm and killing someone?

Tie the mutt up and this wouldn't be a problem now would it? Story reads this wasn't the first time.
So, two wrongs do not make it a right, now does it? One dead leaving a child motherless , and another in deep legal/financial trouble.

I would have suggested to the Lindauer's (prior to this incident) to get the proper legal restraint orders against the offending dog owners.

Make it a request to the local Prosecutor or hire an Attorney if need be. That would get the offending party something of substance that forces some compliance or else to expect some legal consequences.

People taking the law into their own hands is a recipe for disaster. Legally forcing owners to restrain their pets is generally a far better path to take.

Interesting line found in www.courierpress.com story:

" numerous dogs including one belonging to the Lindauers roam through the neighborhood at times."

So, the shooter, lets her own dog roam the neighborhood but uses a .357 on another's yapper dog. Lock her up; give her the max.

Cuz the innocent neighbor should have to shell out money for an attorney to resolve the problem? No way. She had every right to shoot at anything in her yard. Shame a death happened but she isn't to blame.
Indiana law provides ways to recoup attorney's fees and the likes, when a proper order is secured.

Technically, it is NOT the shooting ON THEIR property that is in question. Charges against the defendant do not reflect that.

In simple terms, the defendant failed to control the discharged BULLET(s), leading to a loss of a human life.

Hey Daffy, you are the idiot after all. What is a grammar post? Criticizing someone's grammar, and then writing a nonsensical piece yourself. C'mon idiot. Its more than just spell check. Focus on the topic, jerkoff.

You are one wacky person. This isn't even logical; the woman who was shot was not in the shooter's yard.

Was there a response somewhere in here? When you can't think of an apporpriate intelligent response just do what you can to "make fun" of the other person.(Horrible attempt btw) It also shows you have 0 understanding of the law.

I think we should start a tally. Maybe there is a reason they are re-run old articles!
