Years ago a student at Forest Hills won a candy selling contest and had a choice of prizes, one of which was a semi auto 22 rifle, which he chose. They gave it to him at the school and he took it home on the bus. This was about 1970. THAT is a big change!

When I was in 4th grade, Scottie Ferguson brought a revolver to school to show. The teacher took it up and gave it back to him at the end of the day and told him never to bring it back. That was the end of it. But then, we had no politically-correct liberalism, blacks, or any other of that kind of scourge. Girls wore dresses and we all played dodgeball, kickball, red-rover--all the games the Democrat Party lunatics have ended as being too violent.

That would be a full blown crisis now. Total lock-down, all roads blocked, SWAT teams everywhere, air patrol, news crews, metal detectors, body searches, criminal charges. Not to mention the years of therapy for everyone that was traumatized. And of course the inevitable numerous lawsuits.

But back then we didn't have the insanity going on that seems to be everywhere now.
I'll take those old days over all this so-called 'progress'.

I carried 2 shotguns in the trunk of my car to school in the 11th grade. It was in Dove season. After school one of the teachers and I went out near Fairfield and Dove hunted. Mike Everette took his rife into shop class and he and the shop teacher measured it and built a gun rack for it. This was about 1968.

And back then if a teacher had gotten upset because they thought a child had chewed a PopTart into a shape that 'might possibly' resemble a pistol that teacher would have been put in a straight jacket or laughed out of town!

Liberalism is an aggressive mass mental disorder. They're kooks and lunatics.
