You are wasting your money and your time if you use this vet.

So were you aware that there are EMERGENCIES that come in and out on a daily basis. Apparently you were not made aware of this situation. It is the clinics MOTTO care for emergencies first! I seem to not mind the wait b/c this gives me time to ask more questions about my animals and understand their health issues.

We like Dr. Tunmire and her staff. She's taken very good care of our elderly dog - he has several issues and we've always had great care from this clinic. I can highly recommend.

I have had good care in the past, however, I have a complaint regarding the office manager. I wrote a check on 8-11 for a large amount, and seven weeks later, one day before my paycheck posted, the check went through the bank. I called and asked why the check was held so long, and OM stated check had been misplace, and when found was deposited. I suggested a courtesy call would have been appropriate since more than seven weeks had passed, and she chastized me for not reconciling my bank statement. I stated I did not feel I was at fault, and she told me people do things differently and personally, she reconciles her statements. I will not use this vet again. Sorry, Kim, I think you are great, but your OM really ticked me off! If she could hold that check 7 weeks, she could have made a courtesy call to say the check was found and could she run it through now. Instead, it posted one day before my paycheck, and cost me a fee at the bank. Not fair.

I personally think this place is one of the WORST vet clinics I have ever been too. I waited almost an hour for my first visit there with my dog, which really pissed me off. The place stunk, the people were rude, and the vet just sucks. I can tell you I will NEVER recommend this vet to anyone... there are many other vet clinics that will take care of your animal, will show you respect and get you in and out of there in an timely manner. good luck animal clinic, cause you suck.

I know for a fact that OM is no longer there.

Dr. Tunmire does receive a large amount of emergencies on a regular basis. She also does house calls. I believe this is due to her resonable pricing. She has been a caring vet for my animals over the years and I also have had to wait. I would like to think she would take the same effort in caring for any emergency I may have over a shot or visit. I think consideration for the injured animals that come in should be everyone's first priority because one day it maybe one of you own. I hope that your own animal isn't put second to a regular visit.

Dr.Tunmire and her staff have been respectful and friendly to my family and pet. This is our first pet and Dr. Tunmire has taken the time at each visit to answer all my questions and has never rushed my visit. She is always friendly and takes the time to interact with my dog and he seems to take to her very well. I see some people have committed on the wait time, but come on people, what do you expect? It just like when you go to the doctor, sometime you get in and out and other time you just have to wait. I have written a check twice, the first time I had to call back to office, to tell them please cash the check, and they did. We enjoy and recommend Dr. Turnmire to our family, friends and pets

Dr. Tunmire is horrible. First of all, you do wait a long time. Secondly, on www.thecityofwaco.com/veterinarians/index.htm... she advertises with a picture of her with a cat. Only, wait a second, that's not Dr. Tunmire, but some random vet picture she found on the internet which I thought was misleading. Check out the site and judge for yourself whether or not she is being deceptive. Speaking of her character, if you google her name you will find that she has been reprimanded numerous times by the TEXAS BOARD OF VETERINARY MEDICAL EXAMINERS. I was also really concerned about the cleanliness of the clinic. The scale used to weigh the animals looked as if it had never been cleaned and with sick animals being weighed on them I felt that to be concerning. Especially after my animal became sick after her visit. The clinic overall has a very unsanitary look to it. I was very alarmed that multiple staff members came in and touched my animal without washing their hands knowing they had just handled the animal next door. In fact, after Dr. Tunmire worked with an animal in the room next to mine she came immedietly to my room and failed to wash her hands. Overall it was a very bad experience and I would highly recommend you look elsewhere.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this Vet! I love the Dr. and Staff. They are VERY understanding and Very caring! I recommend to everyone! These people REALLY care about the animal and are not JUST in it for the money! Emergencies COME FIRST!!!! HELLO PEOPLE!!! If you were at the Hospital and a child came in at the same time with critical injuries would you be gripping because you had to wait an hour for a annual shot or checkup!

After our review of this clinic we found it to be above average in accordance with the Rules of Professional Conduct and several other rules set for veterinarians by their various professional organizations and the State Board. Dr. Tunmire has only been cited once in the state board report and this was because she did not complete her required hours of continuing education due to her heavy work load and an illness in her family. Our observation of the clinic was that it was extremely busy but client's were made aware of the possibility of a delay and were offered to reschedule their appointment if they could not wait. When she examined our animal she washed her hands immediately before handling our pet and after the appointment was over she again washed her hands. We found Dr. tunmire to be very pleasant, took time to answer all our questions, made sure we understood our take home instructions and also gave us her personal after hours telephone number. She seems to genuinely enjoy her clients and her patients. The staff was very kind and and treated us with respect and efficiency. It has been our experience after visiting numerous veterinary clinics that all clinics have good days where everything runs according to schedule and days of one calamity after the other that is the nature of the business. I would reccomend that you look up Dr. Tunmire's standing with the BBB and the other prefessional organizations she is affiliated with. Again we are a local secret shopper group that goes to animal related businesses and offer an opinion based on our experience.

I couldn't help but notice this post appears on a Google maps page under the name 'Mitch'. I've never used this vet, so I can't pretend to have an opinion- but to find these exact words ripped off two days later just to stain someone's reputations seems hugely unfair. And untrustworthy. I was reading reviews hoping to find a place to board my cats- how can I make my decision if I find the same post, under different names, recycled just for the sake of giving someone a bad name? So, maybe it is a bad business, but muddying the waters isn't helping anyone or their pets find the care they need.

Jill, grow up and be responsible for your finances. You should have paid (pardon the pun) attention to you statements when you balance your accounts. If a check is taking a long time to clear, YOU need to call and inquire. By putting the blame on someone else shows extreme immaturity in financial matters. Sorry to be so blunt, but you must be a novice at book keeping.

In response to Alisha and Animal Services Detective. First of all, Alisha you are correct, the name on the google review is Mitch, and that is my actual name. Here's why. My cat had gone in for her vaccinations, I had a bad experience as previosly stated, and my cat became scary sick. I researched the symptoms, called the vet, and was informed that the symptoms did not line up with vaccination shots (even the vet said that). I had never experienced my cat being sick like this so I was concerned, but, at the same time, I didn't want to overreact by spending another 60 dollars for her to see another vet (which I ultimately had to do after four days of the illness). Furthermore, I was in contact with Dr. Tunmire's clinic when I wrote my review. I was concerned that Dr. Tunmire, or someone from her staff, monitored these review sites and, upon seeing my name, would become upset. I thought that could ultimately lead to me not getting accurate information which could be a detriment to my cat. Unfortunately, my google account has my real name and I posted the comment (the first comment I ever posted)without knowing it was going to display my actual name. I thought it would let me put in Bill, or whatever I wanted. However, both comments were posted by me. I hope this cleared up the confusion. Anyways, I never...ever post comments, so I am truly trying to look out for others. I understand that vets have good days and bad, but not keeping things sanitary in a vet office is inexcusable. Also, I saw Dr. Tunmire was reprimanded at leat twice (both for not continuing mandatory education, but, to me, that makes me question what other rules are not important enough to follow). Lastly, while I would recommend you don't take your animal to Dr. Tunmire for even a check up, I would say you are absolutely insane to board your animal here. Oh, and look, the picture has changed on the link. Coincidence? I think not!

This vet has been the primary vet for both my parents animals and my animals, she is awesome. Personal attention, caring, concerned, made a house call to my elderly parents house for their pet, took their pet home with her post surgery, above and beyond the call of duty from our experience. A very caring individual, down to earth, wonderful technical practice. We have boarded animals here before, one was 17 years old, with a considerable number of serious heath issues. Dr. Tunmire's practice and boarding service took excellent care of the animal.

Dr. Tunmire is very good at what she does; she is competent, courteous and most importantly an animal lover.
She not only cares for pedigrees but she cares for and about the strays, ferals and abused animals too, and does so with professionalism, compassion and rock solid ethics. I'll wait a little longer if an animal is in need of care; it's the human thing to do to show compassion. I will be taking my animals to Dr. Tuunmire as long as she practices vet medicine.
