Another black mark on the already-very-troubled Burbank PD. The Burbank cowboys on Barham pulling out and using their nice bang-bangs put innocent citizens at danger during rush hour.
We have already been treated to a knee-jerk, self-serving statement on TV by an apologist honcho from the department. This Burbank cop and the officers on Barham came up with the old canard of "they felt threatened and aimed his vehicle at the officers." C'mon. We expect law enforcement to possess some cajones, not engage in ludicrous "sceerdy-cat" reactions.
Watch the video, folks. The criminal was maneuvering around traffic in an attempt to get away from the cops. Only the Burbank PD mentality would see that as any more of a threat than this scum already represented. They will investigate themselves and find everything tickey-boo. Then the DA will say everything was in policy, and the cowboys will be free to let adrenaline overtake brains again.
Neither the LAPD nor the CHP would EVER pull a brainless stunt like this. Who trained these guys? If it is LASO, I would be ashamed.
And before the Burbank PD apologists crawl out of the woodwork to castigate my post, let me make it clear that I understand the potential consequences of a really bad guy running from the PD and doing what he did, when and where he did it.
The takedown was in LAPD and LASO territory. Burbank had better start learning some lessons from their more professional brothers and sisters.

Your post is confusingly not a response to the original poster. Were you to learn the language, you might express yourself in a more coherent manner. And try thinking before you post next time. You clearly failed the test on this one!!!!!

Alabama? We expect posts such as yours from such a backwater.

Sorry, he is no longer from LA. The older and crankier he got, the less rational he became.
He ran away to a place with no crime. Yeah, right!!!!!!

Hey, I call them like I see them. This was clearly a departure from sound apprehension techniques by BPD. They forced themselves into the position to HAVE to take that shot when the suspect's vehicle veered towards the officer. If they had followed felony stop proceedure, they would never have approached that vehicle in the manner in which they did. You and all the other cop bashers who think they know something about something keep the posts coming. They're entertaining. Those of us who have seen it, done it, survived it will still protect you, and follow policy while doing it.

The fact that you know what a computer is and how to use one no less is truly amazing! Maybe you just dictate to your 6 year old nephew and he types it in for you? Either way, you sound like you have worn a set of steel braclets once or twice in your day. And we don't use chalk anymore, we use GPS notations!

Amen!!!! In any large institution, there will be a few jerks. When the problem is clearly much larger, with training and policy, the story is quite different.
Those who make ludicrous comments supporting the actions of the BPD might want to take a look at stories about that particular department all over in today's news.
Pointing our the failures and attempted cover-up in one department in no way casts a shadow on law enforcement.
Most cops are total pros doing a damned difficult job. How would you like to hear control/dispatch send you to a family dispute when you have no idea if a weapon is involved, nor any indication of the circumstances you will face when you step into a potentially deadly situation.
I would also guess that most, if not all, of the BPD officers are good guys and gals, doing their very best to protect citizens.
The problem in Burbank goes far above the patrol copper!

Hey A@@ H@@@,I was born and raised in the valley and after 54 years and being sick of idiots like you,we left.I know more about the subject, then your dumb A@@ ever will, get a clue. And you wish you could be retired and live on a private lake,go F yourself.Next!

If you would bother to look at my name, you might realize that I do happen to live on a private lake. Toluca LAKE. Get it? Fortunately our lake is in Los Angeles, not some yahoo backwater.
In your retirement, please learn some basic punctuation--AND some manners, unless in your little paradise (sounds like Nimrod, Nowhere) the only thing that matters is your gun and your hatred of anything smarter than a gnat.
You know so much about it, let us in on more of your knowledge. Fun to see foolish attempts at rationale when there is nothing but hot air and gas behind it.
BTW, I am happily retired and enjoying the fruits of many years of hard work--including a wonderful home on a wonderful private lake!

Still stuck in LA..Toluca Lake Toliet!!Still go F yourself,what a idiot!!

Clearly you know nothing about Toluca Lake--nor much of anything else for that matter. Enjoy your stay in the South. You and it deserve each other.(This is not intended to denigrate all the good folks in the South--only your and your buddy tea-batter buddies, part of a coterie of haters and bigots and dunder-headed scaredy-cats)
BTW, I can live anywhere in the world I may choose. I do have a home just outside Paris, but I choose to spend most of my time in Toluca Lake. A thousand dollars says you have never seen Toluca Lake. You kind would not stand a chance in such a genteel neighborhood
Also, since your posts resort to vulgarities and name-calling, it is clear you and your fellow travelers deserve each other.
I made something out of my life. Now I care deeply for those less fortunate than I--if they are not snarling octogenarians who can no longer find the bathroom.
Enjoy your "happy life" there in the arsehole of the U. S. We love LA!

Burbank shooting of fleeing suspect.
Has many other people did I happened to see the pursuit of the suspect that was shot by Burbank police. What I happened to see was some every bad police procedures on the part of Burbank police officers. First thing was when the suspect was stopped in heavy traffic with people in the cars, people walking down the sidewalk, people inside of stores and just a very crowded intersection. Now from the news chopper (ch. 7) had a full shot of that intersection and from what I saw was the first incident of bad police procedure. The first and most important thing that you are taught in the academy is the safety of any bystanders and that was not done at that interception.
1- Why not a felony traffic stop with the officers behind the suspects car like you were taught.
2- Why run upon the suspects car
3- The officer that was on the suspect’s driver’s side should at the very least be retrained.
This officer was not in the danger (life threatening) to fire his gun in that intersection full of people. You are trained to think about your backdrop and where that round will end up. The officer was never in life threatening danger of being hit by the suspect’s auto. The officer was in the lane next to the suspect’s auto and in front of a car in the lane he was standing in and another car in the lane behind him. The suspect was already beyond the danger point when he took the shot (BAD SHOOTING). Now when he took that shoot look at the alignment between the officer, the suspect and the car in the next lane, the bullet line was in a straight line for the driver’s car to the right of the suspect.
It looked like some officers need to be retrained and at least one of them fired. I could go on and talk about some of the stupid things that I saw like the officer standing right behind the suspect’s car (with the car running and unable to see in because of tented windows) and banging on the window with his hand. How about cross fire? I not even say anything and the procedures at the end of the pursuit.
