I do. They lived on Prospect Church Rd. A jury found the prime suspect, who was a student at Loudon High School, not guilty. I don't know why though because there was a lot of evidence proving he did it. He even went to school bragging about it and left his school books either at or near the murder scene. The gun was found in the over head light fixture in his bedroom.

Best I can remember it was '80 or '81. I can remember how the victims' last name was pronounced, but not how it was spelled. My mother and I were talking about it the other day, and I can't find anything online about it anywhere. I do remember Joe Sins' quote to the papers. "I can't see how this happened, I gave you the right man."

The gun was not found in his room. A gun was found several years later in the woods near the house where the couple was killed but I am not sure they ever said it was for sure the one that killed them. I believe their names were Brian and Teresa Hale maybe?

It was 1982 I believe. Joe is still convinced that the boy was guilty.

Didn't the Boehmer kid also live near the victims? I think I remember something about the prosecution claiming Boehmer had walked to their house and shot them before he went to school one morning. I do remember those 2 brothers that were also implicated. The younger of the 2 went to Loudon High School, but attended the vocational school near Lenoir City High School in the afternoons.

I heard that a gun was found in his room. The boy did live very close to the couple. He was a frequent visitor. Apparently too frequent. The wife had complained of overtures he had made towards her and the husband had just recently ask that he not visit unless he was there. Shortly after that, the boy goes to the house before school. He knocks on the door and shoots both of them. I can't remember which answered the door, but the other, on hearing the shots must have ran to the door and was also shot. The boy went to school and talked about it and his school books were found on or near the premisis. Sheriff Sims and the county were shocked when he was found not guilty. His family sent him out west immediately following the trial and they went soon after.

What part of the evidence invited enough reasonable doubt to cause the jury to return a verdict of not guilty? From what I've read on here, seems most everyone thinks he did it. I was in high school at the time, and weeks before the trial started a wise old print-setter named Melvin Casteel told a few of us one day "That boy will never be found guilty."

If I'm not mistaken, the boys parents had money. The whole county thought for sure he'd be found guilty. Sheriff Sims had the right one. It must have come from higher up. ( prosecution or judge )

Well everyone, I was there in loudon Tn. oct 14, 1981 and I knew Chris Boehmer,David white, and everyone else involved. Sheriff Joe Sims was a corrupt law breaker himself and they framed that boy with hopes of being reelected. There was not one bit of solid evidence against Boehmer. NONE! He was a good friend and neighbor of Brian and Teresa Hale. They tried every trick in the book to make him look guilty and he was found innocent by a jury. This is the USA whats with the witch hunt attitude? Chris Boehmer was falsely accused at 16 years old, traumatized, and torn from his family and education, without so much as an appology. Ill be glad to answer any and all questions regarding this chain of unfortunate events. And to AOL...you should get your facts straight. Pretty much everything youve said is wrong. Have a nice day everyone

One of Boehmer's school books was found at the crime scene, so they know he'd been there. What makes you so sure he wasn't the killer?

I know that Chris Boehmer wasn't the killer because in the circle of kids that were involved it was obvious who the killer was. There was no real evidence..all a big ploy by the prosecution because they had no case..how could a jury say not guilty if there was any evidence?

Not to mention that Boehmer told the police he had left a book at the house. It wasn't even his book..also the sheriff and half of the prosecutions witnesses were caught lying red handed. I sat in the courtroom and listened to every word from both sides and it was rediculous to ever charge that boy
