Is it not a coincidence that Jeremiah house (retreat for teens) and St. Rose in Freehold where many events were held during the 80's have both had Priests that are CHILD MOLESTERS. Father McAlinden (youth director) at the Jeremiah House in Keyport, was accused last year and now Father Milewski.
This is not a coincidence, this IS reality. The Trenton Diocese has been under the radar and has done a great job with the leadership of Bishop Riese and Bishop Smith to hide the fact that the Trenton diocese is as bad, if not worse then every other diocese in the world.
When will people of the world wake up and face the fact that this has happened or affected every Church. I am not bashing just The Catholic Church, but why is it that is all we ever hear about? Yes, there are people out there that have it out for the Catholic Church but frankly they have every reason and right to.
By the way, does anyone know of a catholic church that has not been affected by a priest that has abused there collar?
Check this site out to see if you know any accused priest in your area.

it is very scary that my roman catholic church has so many child molesters leading us in worship. i have been a devout catholic all my life and i disgree with the church not allowing our fathers to marry. Men of god they are, but still men and they miss sex relationships. they find young boys 2 get what they need from them and ruin their lives. everytime another father is caught it makes me consider changing over 2 episcopalian. i can't take sunday sermons serious anymore with all this. i learned 2 look up 2 priests. now i fear any one of them may be hurting children.

I agree that the church should allow priest to marry, but remember the high incidence of priest molesting boys. So there is another problem here, that most of these priest are gay. Was this a career of convenience for a lot of priest?

I remember the priest who is accused of this heinous crime. He was not one that you would think would do such a thing to a child.
I asked my children, who are now adults, if Father Milewski ever did anything inappropriate to them and they said, "No." A number of Moms whose kids were alter servers during this period also asked their children if anything went on and they all said Father was very respectful to them.
In addition, during the time period in question, none of our children were ever allowed to go on trips with a priest by themselves. There always had to be at least two parents on every overnight trip with the children. In my opinion the facts just don’t add up in this case. Should Father Milewski be investigated? Most definitely! On the other hand so should the claims of the victim.
There have been some cases in the past few years where a few men made false claims about clergy abuse and were doing it to extort money from the church.
In addition Father Williams was not the type of person to put up with such a thing in his parish. I know he has had a priest removed for a lesser infraction.
As far as the issue of suggestingmarried priest in the Roman Church would cut down on clergy abuse is a misconception. The majority of the priest who molested children turned out to be gay and most went after boys.
The Western side of the Catholic Church has un-married priest while many of the Easter Catholics allows priest to marry. We are all in the same Catholic Church.
Abusing children is a sin, a crime and a hateful act against our children. It should not be tolerated.
Readers, please pray for all involved in this case so the truth is know and there is healing. God Bless!

please, everyone, do not paint all the priests with the same brush, i am not catholic, and i think that this priest did not do enough to help the immigrants in this town when the mayor and town council tried to run them out of this city, let the courts decide whether these allegations are valid or not.. saying that, i feel the catholic church should take more drastic action when they find the priests are accused of this terrible crime. priests, because they are not allowed to marry, which i feel is terrible should not use this as an excuse to molest children.. if they can't live up to their vows should leave the priesthood.. lets put an end to this terrible behavior of "some" priests forever

What does one have to do with the other?? You want these priests to follow the law in one respect but not the other? You want them to assist people who break the law by being here illegally? Damn, if my kids ever break the law I hope a priest (and you) stand up for them. Why should they follow the law when the illegals don't have to? Brilliant bleeding heart liberal logic once again, absolutely brilliant!

please, everyone should know by now, that because the gays, both men and woman were not accepted in the 1800s through the 1900s that the priesthood and nuns turned the monasteries into homosexual havens. Wake up people.

ST Veronica's Mom

I hope your children truely have not had to experience something so horrific. But the reality is that most adults/children that have been abused as children will never admit to the abuse. One of the main parts of grooming is fear. Fear is what keeps victims quiet. There is also something called shame...

You need to check your facts.Being gay has nothing to do with sexually abusing a child.

If convicted he should get the maximum penalty allowed by the law. This is not an isolated case the must corrupted institution in the history of the civilized world is the catholic church, they have been covering up for pedophiles for centuries. It's time for the catholic church and all it's corrupt leadership to pay up.

Daily Horoscope for December 20

Aries

There's a lot of tension in the air, with certain people poised to spit the dummy, as Mars turns retrograde in your fifth house of romance, children and speculation. Confrontations are likely. If these are nothing to do with you and you just happen to be directly in the firing line, your best bet is to make yourself scarce. But if you are responsible for their outraged feelings then you need to face the music, otherwise things will only get worse.
