To the motorist who thinks that traveling above the speed limit is OKAY: I hope you enjoy paying your speeding ticket!! Leave other motorists alone and allow them to drive the speed they are comfortable. OR go around them. Hmmm, ever think of that one, smart one? You are the VERY type of driver who causes fatal accidents. How about using your time more wisely to be ticked off at other, more important issues?

Who said they were going to speed? Is it too much to ask to be able to just drive the speed LIMIT. Yes, some people are more comfortable driving under the limit, but if you are, just be courteous enough to get over, and let the people who are willing to drive the speed limit, or Heaven forbid 5 over, pass.
|
||||
Amen. People who drive UNDER the speed limit in the left lane should be ticketed. |
||||
No one said anything about going over the limit. He was ticked about people UNDER the limit in the left lane. |

Take it from someone who is a little older than you: don't spend any more time in your life getting ticked off by little things. I'm glad the lady moving the turtle made you happy, but you would have enjoyed it even more if you didn't fill your head so much with petty complaints about total strangers.
You don't like how other people pronounce words? I guarantee your pronunciation has some things others would think "wrong" too -- get over it! Get over ALL of it. Notice the good things, remember them joyously and FORGET the rest. You get paid to write? Don't to get paid to write about trivial negativities. You could fill a column every day with stories like the lady and the turtle and spend your day uplifting people. Get over it, folks. Other people are irritating sometimes -- but they actually have as much right to be here as you do. |

Thanks, Gail, but I think most people on here know how to deal with trivial problems. We come here to read about everyone elses! You have to vent your frustrations sometimes. It's not healthy if you don't. No one gets paid for these comments (except for maybe the Publix ones...:) |

That's my point, "Huh." You DON'T have to "vent" because someone else pronounces a town differently than you do. That's not just venting -- it's also highly self-centered and wasting whatever brain power one has on getting irritated over triviliaties committed by someone not even connected with them.
Actually it's been disproven that venting is healthy. Venting actually feeds angry feelings. Of course if you aren't getting paid, then you get your 15 minutes of fame for being petty and bitter, but my point is you could get it much more positively. You really can let those silly things slide right off your back. it makes more room in your head for the people who help turtles across highways. |

It is usually the biased locals that hate the Yankees and correct them on everything that comes out of their mouth. You have your geography wrong. |

Uh, Gail, I don't know how to tell you this but YOU'RE venting about US venting. If you don't like to read the negative "ticked off" stuff, don't. Your perogitive.

Odd really....seems to me, Gail, that you're venting by even writing your opinions of people venting. Things that make you go "hmmmmm". |

Appalling. This is what happens when money is put before everything else. |

..........A 32-year-old healthy woman with no history of breast cancer found a lump. She went to several doctors only to be turned away being told she was too young to have cancer or a mammogram. Eventually she was diagnosed with breast cancer and had to have a double mastectomy..........
Now THAT is grounds for a law suit. No woman is too young for a mammogram. Young women are encouraged to get one done early while they are healthy to act as a baseline to compare later scans to. That doctor should have his license yanked. |

Someone told Scott & Erica this morning that there's a new Florida law that prevents HOAs from preventing people from having clotheslines because of the energy issue.
|
||||
I agree, but realistically, there's ALWAYS going to be people who insist on b*tching & moaning about stupid, petty things...here on the Ticked Off forum as well as in every day life. They seem to thrive on the negativity. Some people just aren't happy if they don't hit their quota of daily complaining. There's really no use in trying to get these people to change, because it'll never happen. |
||||
And she will win. Happened to my aunt at 31. She was dead before 37. She did get about two years to enjoy her settlement but her children lost her forever. |
||||
I've always thought that law was in place. HOAs cannot prevent them, they can only say where they are located and how they can look. |
||||
That's so sad. Sorry to hear that. |

For the person with the clothesline issue: It is against the law for your homeowners associated to prohibit the use of a clothesline.

I think Gail was saying don't even get to the frustration part. Over something small. Frustration is a choice we make, not a weather condition that happens to us. It's not healthy to feel frustration over little things, and it actually been shown that venting anger or frustration rather than dealing with it constructively leads to problems, not reduces them. |
||||
Yes. Hmmmm. How people see what they want. Offering cogent insight is the same as venting. Hmmmmm. |
