Man sent to prison for pointing laser at airplane
Over the past few years the number of commercial airliners reporting incidents of "laser illumination" events, where someone on the ground points a laser beam at the aircraft, has increased steadly.

Frankly, don't know enough about the science to have an informed opinion...
If those little hand lasers can compromise a pilot flying an airplane with several hundred passengers, then perhaps they should be outlawed.
Seems kind of weird that a 12.00 doodad you can buy anywhere will get you thrown into prison if you point it at the sky...
But again, I really don't know shit about these little stocking stuffers...
