Why does the state allow fireworks (other than what is authorized) to be sold by vendors? Kind of a double standard don't you think?. State Law - Not Allowed

Vendor Stands - almost any kind of fireworks you want!

OK Daily Press, since all fireworks are illegal in Newport News and most are illegal in Hampton, then why are you advertising that you can drive to Gloucester to buy fireworks?

Oh ... where is the fun. I enjoy lighting my own fireworks in the back yard. I have done this for many years to avoid the long lines and crowds at professional shows. Besides, I still have most of my digits and toes attached.

Fireworks laws are ignored by the citizens and police. My neighborhood in Foxhill has always had illegal fireworks and I have never seen the police investigating the "bombs bursting in air". If the police are not going to enfore the laws then get rid of them, either the police or the law (take your pick). Non enforcement of laws causes anarchy. And while you are at it, legalize drugs, pediophilia and murder. The police do not seem to be able to do anything about those crimes either.

Easy buddy, someone step in your flower bed or something and no one came to help? Take a pill or something. There is such a thing as discretionary enforcement. Especially when there are more doing this than cops to respond when domestic issues, drunks, and various other criminal activity is going on. Sit back and enjoy it and get off your high horse.
