This seems like a fairly insignificant issue to have taken up the time of our General Assembly. Don't they have more urgent/important issues to discuss? Why would you want to take an online course if you have the option to do the same think in the class room? If they are trying to force the exposure to the internet and digital access, then fact of the matter is that most all kids nowadays will already run circles around the adults on the internet or digital access.

So which online educational provider with connections to the governor managed this one?

Maybe some good will come of this if they make it a class in math or science.

As someone well versed in technology, I have no idea how taking an online course is meaningful to a student's education.

This would only make sense if a little treasure doesn't spend most of their life on Facebook or a porno site.

Follow the money trail.

Also, I propose the writer of this article take an online course in Newswriting I. "In order to" should be edited to "to." Word economy, boys and girls!

Yep,another pile 'o crap to go along with the sol's "stupids of learning".Something else to waste time instead of teaching these kids what they "NEED" to know to get by in real life. Maybe any politican running for office should be required to take an online course. And to think these people run the state. God help us.

There are still MANY areas in Virginia without access to broadband internet and surely a lot of families with access to it that cannot pay for it. More than likely any online course would require a high speed when is the government going to ensure availability and affordability to all since they are now mandating it for children's education??
