I don't think you should hold Craigslist in any way responsible for the conduct of adults. There will always be men and women that are willing to deal in the sex trade.
Craigslist provides a valuable service to the community and I for one, intend to continue posting and reading posts for goods and services that I am in need of.
I have bought and sold and given away, furniture, sporting goods, and household equipment. I've found a wonderful room-mate through Craigslist and I always browse the employment opportunities.
It's all about personal responsibility and self respect. Unfortunately some people don't know the meaning of either.

This is totally out of whack - yes, i know that prostitution sometimes allows other bad elements of life in to a neighborhood - otherwise me selling my fanny to men that want it harms no one... no one.. NO ONE... leave them alone and pick on the REAL criminals...

I think what is funny about the situation is we have seen this girls picture before for the same offense. Either she hasn't a clue in her head or her cocaine habit is totally out of control. How stupid are you to go to an apartment and not check out the address and residence before to see if it is legitimate. It isn't CL's fault, they have alot of wonderful opportunities for many. Though some may say prostitution is illegal there are far worse things they should be concentrating on instead of that for one I feel isn't really a crime its a hobby for most men.

To COCO and Jenni, Prostitution spreads STDs and is just like playing rush and roulette with your life and everyone else's life you come in contact with. Maybe you guys should be locked up you can sell it all you want on the inside. As far as I am concerned you two are real criminals. A loaded vagina is no different than a loaded gun, just takes longer to kill

prositution is wrong no matter how you look at it

and is a crime there is no justifying it at all

criminals or criminals big or small catch them all

its ok to date more than one person at a time

but i dont not think its ok to have multiple sex

partners simeltaneously taking the time to know

someone throughly and to guarantee you remain

loyal to one person and only have sex with them

is something completely different

yes i do believe craigslist should be held responsible because they are allowing an additional service to be offered without doing anything to stop it but rather gain in on the profits

yes you can buy and sell goods to one another but why have a certain section called ADULT SERVICES HELLO are you kidding me these women have to pay a certain fee not to mention continually post up their services being offered so the site makes just that much more money off of them

my point is not to defend craiglist but to suggest the adult services simply be removed so people can continue everyday life without hoes

it is CL's fault they offer the ADULT SERVICES knowing good and well what that implies
and no its not a hobby to spend money and possibly risk undercover stings or worse yet catching something from a stranger
yes there are worse crimes out there of course and they should be handled accordingly just as prositution needs to be handled accordingly

I really don't think the spreading of disease is a valid argument when it comes to casual sex ,pay-per-view sex or whatever othe kind of sex , those diseases have been around for a long time and noone is looking for a cure nor how to extract it from society ...

It actually does harm someone. Alot of these men drug these woman, rape them, and sometimes kill them. Not every crime is seen on the news. It it were not a growing issue of crime the police would not be wasting their time with it. Believe it or not the police pick on ALL criminals even the ones paying for sex.

And this is for CoCo too, Yes it does hurt people, It hurts the wifes and children of these men paying you for your services,It hurts your family who cares about you, It hurts your children when all of thier friend say "oh your mommy's a whore", It hurts our community when you have 14 and 13 year olds out on the streets selling there bodies, Your hurting yourself because I know this is not the life you saw for yourself and if you say you dreamed of growing up to be a prositute you are a liar. It hurts our community, you say its fine for you to 'sell your fanny to a guy who wants it' but if he turns around and rapes you or hurts you its the community who has to pay for the police to spend extra time trying to find the creep who hurt you (if your lucky enough to be alive) Not to mention the desease, drugs, violence, lack of self pride and motivation that is leading our youth (whom by the way are our futures) down this path of self destruction. Instead of selling your fanny for a quick buck, use that energy to pick up a book educate yourself make your real dreams come true, that easy money is not always easy, and it can't be satifying. One day your gonna look back and wonder what happened to your life. So I hope you know what you plan to do with your future. This is real life not a fairytale so you need to work hard at making something of yourself for yourself.

I don't use prostitutes and never have, but there are some, or many that do. What's the harm with making it legal, have a district marked-off and anyone wanting their services just goes to that district and takes their pick. Sort of like buying a bottle of wine. It would be no skin off anyone's nose. Oh sure, prudes would have a million reasons to say it's a crazy idea, but I think it's crazy to jail anyone for something so basic as sex. Our jails are crowded enough now...this is a society (Virginia is) that should change their slogan from "Virginia is for Lovers" to "Shoot the Son of a Bi*ch". It is the attitude that I see.

How would it be taxed? I'm sure that is the major concern of it becoming legal. lol

That would be fine in a controlled enviroment where disease and violence and underaged sex can be controlled. This is why its an issue, its not just basic sex its more about all the crap that comes along with it, most of these girls are not just girls trying to make a living but more trying to feed a habit. If they want to make a career of selling sex go to nevada, its legal there. If you don't like the punishment, then don't do the crime, its not that hard. BTW would your views be the same if this was the profession your daughter choose? I would like a truthfull answer.

My husband uses his AKO account to link up with craigslist sex services. This tells me that those in authority approve of the service rendered and the involvement of Army resources to procure such services.
