Virginia Beach says ad crossed line in the sand

I love Virginia Beach (minus the cops) I think we have a good crowd of people and we have a good time, but during tourist season (summer) I think the cops mess with the locals more than the tourists. They dont want us to curse or do anything that will give the tourists a bad impression of Virginia Beach. Dont get me wrong the cops harrass you all year round, but when its summer and they got thousands of people down there, they are ON IT!! On horses, bikes, anything goes for them. You just have to know how to have a good time without attracting negative attention...I guess us locals would be better at that than tourists.(some locals dont know how to act either) I know when people go on vacation they either want to rest and relax, or wi'le out.
But forget trying to walk down the sidewalk along all the stores/bars, cuz the tourists walk slow as turtles and you gotta walk all the way around them to get where you want to go.
Ive never been to Myrtle Beach, but Ive heard its much quieter than Virginia Beach.. I think that wa low of them to steal Business from VA BCH.

pointed out that three people actually died while on vacation at Bike Week in Myrtle that same week!

I think if you want to play a little dirty you might make sure you don't have anything that can be pointed out by the competition.

I doubt you were singled out due to the plates, the largest naval base in the world is here and many many people have out of state plates. Anyother place i would agree but not here. Cops at the beach are just ticket writing fools, who will ticket you at the drop of the hat.

I can see where VB is upset, bad form on Myrtle. What they say is true, BUT that kind of marketing is uncalled for. On the other hand i am sitting here laughing because Myrtle Beach is 100% better than VB. In the last 9yrs i have watched the ocean front pretty much "eat its self" with its silly rules, codes and so called family friendly enviroment.

Let's see...You can't park without getting towed, you can't go around the block without getting a ticket fro "cruising", You can't go to the hotel bars 'cause their parking lots are for overnight guests.

If you can handle yourself in an adult manner the cops in VA Beack won't mess with you! Been here 29 years, still party at the beach, still work in the area and three kids still in High school, never been arrested or harrassed. Grow up or we don't want you at our Beach!

The beach is ok but I've seen better. To each his own
