Money Runs Out For Mobile Pantry

Money for a traveling food pantry that assists residents is scheduled to run out by month's end.

I don't quiet understand why the ones
cannot get help that really needs it.
You have foster families receiving so many
pounds of food from Second Harvest, per foster child, per month. Foster families receives approximately $600.00 or more per month per foster child for their basic needs to be met. Why not stop these programs first?

Not sure what you want to stop? Stop people from being foster familes or helping those families that are trying to help these kids to have a loving family and those families getting help? I'm hoping you are saying stop letting them get free food from the Second Harvest since they do get money each month. That I would agree on people take places like this for granted or those that can afford it some how get through the system and those that really do need help do not get it.

I am not sure how the comments posted regarding the article on the Mobile Food Pantry relate to foster families. Although the article does not state exactly who the recipients are, I have always assumed that any low income person or anyone with special needs or circumstances can receive this assistance. Certainly there are plenty of folks (expecially the elderly on fixed incomes) that can benefit from this service and it is the community's responsibility to provide whatever assistance is required. Churches have always "been there" for those who make their needs known.
