He should be paying out the nose, certainly. And there is enough here for the civil case against him to be staggering. But I see no Criminal Case, unless they prove he threw a punch. Then an Assault charge perhaps.
It seems to me an involuntary manslaughter charge would be in order. not to satisfy the public ,but the young man is dead. I feel like it could have been avoided. if I were in zimmermans shoes ,I wouldn't have shot the boy.
my understanding of criminal law is limited.

There is too much reasonable doubt, in my opinion, that he fired the gun legally. From a criminal standpoint, I can see that charge being successfully appealed. THe dissent being where the prosecution could not prove that he fired the gun recklessly or negligently, and not in self defense. A person is allowed to use deadly force technically even if he beleives he is going to be assaulted.

I guess the law cannot teach personal ethics ,and it was never intended to ,just to simply be a line of civility.
Zimmerman saying that he had no remorse, disturbs me. I guess the word remorse has several definitions in the publics opinion. regret , would be my opinion. I would have several regrets if I were Zimmerman. I guess I am thinking emotionally on this one.

"a gnawing distress arising from a sense of guilt for past wrongs"

I guess maybe it could imply an admission of guilt.

Not trying to sound cold or callous but, it's over and done. The main difference between white and black people will be seen after the verdict is read.

now stop it...lol. you know that is not what I am talking about.
its about rules of engagement ,and ethics.
if your children became rebellious against what you taught them ,and stole from me ,would you appreciate the fact that I treated them as misguided children? or engage like Zimmerman?

some things are simple truth, that has nothing to do with "mans law".
I like you, and I think you are a Mensa member ,and highly intelligent. you have gained the art of observing humans ,and express it in duplicity of characters. I have been arguing with you for a long time...:) don't take what I say with a grain of salt ,you have a mind to understand. I like you!

After reading several posts on this topic , having observed the trial , listened to lots of media coverage on all sides , I have come to this conclusion. As long as there are people like Al Sharpton around , racism will always be alive. I'm sick of how the double standard of being black lets you off the hook or gets you more privilege now. This trial should never happened. If it wasn't for retain black figures beating the drum over it , it never would . Martin shouldnt have had to die but he shouldn't have brought it on and took it that far . This could be a great lesson for young black men, do t put yourself in a position to endanger yourself.

I agree completely, I hope you didn't misunderstand. al Sharpton would be unemployed if true racial harmony existed.

He was found "not Guilty" meaning they could not prove beyond a reasonable doubt that he was guilty. That hardly makes him innocent.

that being said.

I am glad for the verdict.

Channel 11 in Louisville piled on right away last night. They billboarded that they would have 'local reaction to the verdict' on the Sunday morning talk shows. Nothing like trying to goad the locals into violence.

Sickening isn't it! And people will fall for it watch and see! They wanted a race war. Obama started that train wreck and he couldn't have been more right, if he had a son it would be a travon thug.
Bottom line TM parents FAILED HIM. They are the reason he is dead. They should have taught him better. But you saw them lol before the clean up AFTER they trademarked his name thinking they were going to make money from his death. They have a big bill to pay with their souls!
