Does anyone know what is going on? A friend of ours lives there and they had heard they got sold to HMH. And they said here lately it seems like everyone is moving out all at once. Please let me know so i can let them know what is going on. Their landlord hasn't said anything, they are just worried they wont know anything until the last min.
Thank you

I would just say find a place to move your mobile home and get out. This has been going on for quite some time. It is a dump, don't you would think they would fix the place up if it were to remain a mobile home park. That is prime property and is worth a mint.

Its a major problem, alot of those trailers have been there for so many years that they probably wont survive the move all in one piece. I know some neighbors were discussing selling their trailers and just trying to start over. Alot of people have been there for so long but, what can you do.

Well, it might be scummy, but all those people would be out of a place to live, which i think its sad that someone would even wish that upon anyone

I totally agree.. some people can't help it that they live there... its not like anybody would want to live there if they could afford better. But theres alot of kids that live over there and it would be sad if they were left homeless. I know there are alot of riff raffs over in that area, but as far as I know its calmed down alot since back in the day.

You are a true pilgrim. The people making remarks about the shanty condition or social makeup of this place are most likely yuppie scum living deep in debt or born to upper middle class privilege.

All people indeed need a place to live and if this place suits their standards-so be it. Shame some over funded corp outfit picks the economically weakest in society to garner a bargain, but then that is human history.

I don't think you understood what people were saying. There is no need for the park to look that way, management should do repairs on the road and make people clean up their lots and do some work on the homes that are falling a part. You are wrong because i know one of the guys that owns part of the park and it is gonna be sold. It is a dump and needs to be bulldozed. The owners should let the people know so they can find other places to move.

I understood the OP was asking about the status of the park, as to be sold, as to people leaving.

Others chimed in on the condition, it being tacky, and lack of management.

Obviously from reading this the conclusion can be made that for a long time there has been no standards required from:
1) Occupants
2) Owners
To and from each other. The should have and could have done this or that is past consideration. Yet, some are content with this situation and stay, or can't afford to move elsewhere, and others have moved seeking better. My attention was drawn by the mention of HMH buying this displacing those of lesser means.

Nothing is factual as to the fate, as I read it. Just rumor and inneuendo. If you know the details then you could inform the residents in some chosen way for ownership has not. Which is to be taken as fact?

I agree people need a place to live , But what kind of living is going on there ??????? I know of 6 mobile homes just off the top of my head that are drug places . SO get real if they really need a place for their kids keep it , if they need a place for drugs to be stored tear it down . I also agree the managment is the problem . The need 24 hr security there and all they have is someone collecting rent and not caring about the little kids there . Same with Woodland , lots of drugs there

If all the people who "know" where drug dealers lived did something about it, like calling the Hardin Co Drug task force, wouldn't that be more effective than wishing a trailer park would close?
Who has 24 hour security? Ritzy condos and high-rise apartments! Not trailer parks. If the owner made all the repairs and did all the paving that needs done, he'd have to raise rents. In this economy, it may make better sense for him to sell it than to throw good money after bad.

They won't tell them until the last minute because they want to collect money as long as they can. I would looking for a new home if I were these people.
Its All Rumors

I am an owner of a few homes there and a previous tenant. I can say that it is the nicest park I've ever lived in or visited. Yes, the streets could be paved, but that's not management, that's the owner's of the lands responsibility and they don't want to fork out the cash. Current management has run a pretty tight ship and has removed a lot of the riff-raff that gave this park the reputation in the 1st place. I don't see how the city (or any other business) could come in, remove all these people who most likely have nowhere else to go, and feel good about it. A lot of tenants over there also own the homes they live in. Where are they supposed to go? There have been rumors flying around for the past 5 years (at least) about the future of the park. So please, stop with the rumors unless you have hard, factual information to post. It doesn't help anyone to continue to spread false or uninformed information.
Thanks for reading.
