I know the accused and was totally shocked to hear she would do that to a baby. She loved babies and children and everyone. She always has I dont know what really happened and totally feel sorry for the babies death. I am curious to see what Ashley's defense is. What I dont understand is if I show up to my babysitters house and I see my child unresponsive and beaten I am not gonna place in car and drive her 20 min away from VineGrove to Etown Im F#ucking calling 911 right away PERIOD. I prob couldnt drive that enraged and freaked out. Since there are bite marks on her that should prove or not prove. Ashley if you did that you have fooled many and are horrible for what you did.
The mother didn't pick the child up, the grandmother did. Maybe you should do some research on the 911 response times, especially in a rural area. I bet that you would learn that the grandmother got the child to the hospital in less time than it would have taken for emeregency responders to even arrive. You may not be able to drive under certain circumstances, but everyone handles situations differently. Anyone on the outside can analyze what did or might have happened or what they would have done. The fact is, we don't truly know what we could have, should have, or would have done. Bottom line is that there is a precious, beautiful, innocent child that is now in God's "custody" that will never be forgotten. We should all be worrying about ourselves and our own lives instead of trying to pass judgement on the parents or accused.

Mom was not made aware of her criminal history. She was recommended by a close friend. By the way, the criminal history that you are referring to was NOT a history of violence....

The grandmother did exactly as I would have done, why waste precious minutes waiting for an ambulance when she could be at the hospital by the time it got there. I hope this sorry ashley gets the death penalty and if not I hope the inmates will make sure she gets what she deserves behind bars, prisoners do not like people who abuse children. Some of you that know ashley needs to let her know what she is in store for for killing that beautiful little girl who was only two years old, what kind of monster is she anyway. Maybe she would have a better outlook on life if she had pushed herself away from the table, the ole fat slob. She was so miserable that she took it out on the baby. I hope she will be beat when she gets with the big girls just like she did the baby. I know the parents must have been proud to have had a child that beautiful. She is in heaven now and never again will she be abused.

Can anyone do anything to the abuser \ MURDERER of this precious baby to bring justice to Layla or to her family? NO, NO and NOOOOOOO! I hope the guilty suffers every single day for the rest of their life & when they get done suffering here on this earth may GOD ALMIGHTY send them to where their suffering will never, ever, ever come to an end (which I am sure little Layla probably thought that her suffering would not end on that awful day she lost her life!) This baby's family does not need or deserve to have people making any assumptions that they had anything to do with this... the only thing they are guilty of is trusting their baby to someone whom they found out too late: DID NOT DESERVE TO BE TRUSTED! I pray that the family can find some comfort in knowing that Layla is in the arms of Jesus where she will never know pain again and that they will see her again some day. They are obviously awesome people... helping other children at Kosair's, thru donations made in their Daughter's \ Grand-Daughter's memory... and the precious cards from the funeral home gave me the impression that THAT was NOT the ONLY way that they made donations from little Layla thru this awful tragedy. God bless this family, keep them in your loving care always!

hmmmm, is there a chance that this woman didn't do this to the baby???? what if the mother did it before she dropped the child off to the babysitter? something is funny here!! Think about it?? SHe just randomly calls her mom and tells her something is not right, to go pick up the child at the babysitter??? maybe she knew ahead of time that something was wrong and waited to take the baby to babysitter then call her mom and ask her to pick the baby up, when she knew all along she had hurt the baby herself and got worried but knew that would be a way to accuse someone else of what she had done!! worth thinking about!!!
i know the fam personally, she was talking to the babysitter and could tell she was sounding out of the norm and called her mother to go check things out andget the baby since she couldnt herself, she obviously had no idea how bad the situation was or she wouldve went herself... i know you have to look at all options in situations like this, but knowing the baby sitter and knowing the family im really leaning towards the fact that it was the sitter and not the mother...

Contact your Congressman & USA President & tell them you support Life in Prison/no parole for Child Murderers & stricter punishment for Child Abusers. Go to "The Madison Ann Cundiff Memorial Foundation" if you want to help & help get laws changed. Layla is with Madi now & we must not forget these sweet babies & all the fallen children at the hands of child murderers. We must be their voice & help protect the living children. Make the guilty pay. The younger the child the stricter the punishment. The bad wolf will think twice before biting a child if the death penalty is handed down. Layla's death was pure cold blooded murder. Pray for layla's family, light white candles for comfort. Let butterfly windchimes blow in the wind for Layla's song. We <3 you very much Layla :)You always was special, you are special, you always will be special. RIP babydoll @}---',--- May God our Creator bless you all. THANK YOU!!! EVERYONE should follow this very wise suggestion and demand that anyone who murders a child, be punished to the FULL extent of the law! NO ONE should ever have to bury a child, ESPECIALLY when the result of death is abuse / MURDER! Children are a GIFT from GOD and should be treated as such... with LOVE and TENDER CARE, and they should never, ever have to live in fear (which the last moments of sweet Layla's life must have been pure TERROR.) Any one who is behind the death of a child... I can't even say what I would like see done to them... but, it isn't pretty! Anyway, that will be taken care of by GOD Himself! I have mixed feelings about supporting life in prison, NO PAROLE... BUT, IF someone is handed down the death penalty, and have been proven guilty... why should it wait for years to happen? It should be swiftly carried out, right then! And why should they get to "special order" their last meal of their favorite foods before they face their punnishment? Lastly... why should they get a simple needle and just drift off into a permanant "sleep"????? Let them suffer, just as these murdered children suffered! There are methods that are much more suitable for these murderers! Not just child murderers, but murderers of ANY ONE!!!!! Since this can not always happen... I will continue to find comfort in knowing that GOD will be handing down a punnishment that will be everlasting, and better than anything the law can do. I guess MAYBE I do feel that keeping them in jail is a waste of space not to mention money,(money that could be better used elsewhere, like HELPING THESE FAMILIES.) It is a slap in the face to those who have SUFFERED and DIED at the hands of these killers to let them keep on keeping on and probably getting better medical care than the children who my some miracle do survive but are left broken and "damaged" for life... with no quality of life, and possibly a life of suffering for how ever long they have left. OK, getting off my soap-box now before I say too much (probably already have.) Anyway... I do keep these families in my prayers, and as someone who has experience in this kind of loss, I also have to pray for GOD to soften my heart and help me to think upon the good things and good memories that are left behind! Again, THANK YOU for this advice to everyone... I hope the President's and Congress offices desks are SWAMPED with letters. Most of all I pray that they listen to the voices of those who speak for those who CAN NOT speak for themselves!!!! GOD BLESS!!!!
