The bars are already here! Beef O'Brady's, Chalupas, Rafferty's, O'Charley's, Heartland Club, Cheddars. Beef Obradys and Chalupas draw a large younger crowd. Whe I was in my 20's E-town was the last place I wanted to go though, Louisville is much better and much more fun for nightlife. Even if we had some of those places here, it would still suck. It is E-town! This is where you raise kids, not go to bars!
Have to be able to meet people to have kids!

you're so damned warped in your tainted religious thinking that you probably actually believe that. misinformed and out of touch. do the numbers! speaks volumes.
When I voted, all I had to do was sign my name. They did not have to check my ID, but neither did I have to provide information regarding any church affilliation. Did they fail to get all of my credentials? Otherwise, I didn't understand the source of these 'statistics' because there was not an exit poll of any kind.

Why on earth would you want to have kids with the kind of woman that you meet at bars? Those women are a lot of fun, well into their 40's, with lot's of different men. No thanks!

are you that fu'n stupid you don't understand how to subtract numbers? "statistics"??????? can't you understand the percentage turn out and the differences in the vote and the total number of those that COULD vote? Jesus Christ!!!! This is exactly what I meant when I said you're whacked and looney tunes. I give up. You can't explain it to someone who has no reasoning. You win. We're all going to heaven now and thank you for saving us all by your vote!!@!!!!!!! whoo hooooo... you beat the devil..... you alone and barehanded (with a few of your cohearts from your pews) lol If I were that stupid I think I'd stay out of the rain for you're sure to drown.

So what are the people in the 20s gonna do in this town for the next year? Where to meet new people that isn't a church?
Here's an idea, volunteer at a nursing home, help an elderly neighbor, volunteer at a no kill animal shelter. You might be surprised at your abilities as a young person in your twenties how much good in the world you can do. Volunteering looks good on a resume and job applications. Life isn't all about gulping alchol at the local watering hole. You might just meet other great young people in the process.

I didn't care which side "won" and I didn't vote on this issue...I was more concerned with the fact that this "vote" was held in the public schools WHILE the children were present...With the tragedy in Connecticut only a few weeks ago, was it really "SAFE" for the children to be present while these people who have no business in the school walked in and out of the building all day????

Just what the righteous wanted. It might have been different if it was put on a ballot with other things with more draw to vote on. You get better turn out then. Next time it gets presented in three years or more do it so it has to come up when national elections are happening. More people vote on either the presidential cycle or the gubernatorial cycle than just a small local election. More people can mean a better chance for a passing because only those extremely passionate will show up for an off election odd time cycle vote. Just my thoughts.
The questions should be: how many people knew about the vote. & knew were it was being held at.. I voted NO anyway.. I'll bet If more people knew the out come would of been..

Thats what they have said every time it is defeated it will pass next time, there are plenty of places that serve drinks in ETOWN why do you think there needs to be more, they will still be resturants that serve liquor, and I find it interesting that the only people using curse words on here are the people that wanted the yes vote, just thought that was an interesting side note.

Class and dignity. Familiarize yourself with those words so you will gain a better insight of their meanings.

No, curse words I have used them myself, but in a public forum discussing topics it just shows the lack of an education and a lower IQ to have to resort to foul language to get a point across. But small minds sometimes, have to resort to words like that because they do not have the capacity to be able to carry on a conversation

Besides, the fact that the only points you can attack are our usage of words that your parents told you were "naughty" proves that you have nothing to say.

You are so inept it's laughable, the vote failed because you couldnn't get enough people to vote yes where were all these people on the day the election was held, if you wanted it to pass you should have worked harder and got people out to vote. I stated before there is no reason to travel to etown with or without drinks being served everywhere, there is no tourism, attractions there is nothing of interest to anyone outside the city limits, you have many places to eat that already serves drinks, so at least you have it avaiable, a BW3 or Hooters is not going to make or break the town, people are still not going to travel to etown unless they have family there or perhaps a ball game, other than that etown has nothing, so there are the points, etown has nothing to offer to people outside the county.
Still pretty happy

At least I can still take my 3 minute drive to Kroger and by beer.

Progress is slow. Give it time.
