I also knew Ross very well, worked with him everyday, and he was a caring Occupational Therapist and an good man. I knew him well, and although he was upset and angry, he would have never hurt anyone, especially police officers. I attended his funeral Saturday, and it was packed with people who loved him, including many of his current and former patients. There are many stories going around town, some good, some bad, but I knew him well. I've also seen his home which has numerous bullet holes. I also heard the shots from my home. He was shot multiple times. My thought is this is unacceptable and a horrible tragedy. Someone needs to be held accountable for this.

yes Ross for not putting his gun down when asked too. He knew what would happen.

He raised a gun at them didn't he? Doesn't make the excessive force right , but it is a reason.
Guess you're right about that, so police are going around looking fo a reason to shoot people, and you are OK with that ?

For those of you "Pickle Kissers" that think you could of shot him in the leg or arm or just wounding him would of stopped him, your sadly mistaken.
I'm a vet that's been shot several times and I could still return fire. I'm not defending anyone, but just stating the facts.
You point a gun at me, I'm going to empty my weapon if I have to. They'll be singing hymns over the body the next day.
What, praytell, is a "pickle kisser"

what do you do when some one points a gun at you? He didn't say it was right. He said it was a reason. I think it was justified you want to pi$$ and moan because your friend recruited help to commit suicide your the one that's nuts.

May I just say to everyone: friends and family are reading this. May God let the truth be known. Ross was an amazing man and what he did was fall in love and get his heart broken. While he was intoxicated and may have (or may have not) raised a gun, I believe 24 shots to one body was excessive. I find it hard to believe that anyone trained, even to kill, would require that many shots!
May God be with the friends, patients, and family of Ross. May God let the truth be known to all!!

its sad what happened and I wish the family well during this tough time. I wasn't there so this is a opinion but it just seems like to me that he made up his mind that it seemed like he was doing a suicide by cop. the officers did try other methods like bean bags and taser so at least they made an effort. I just wish there was a step 3 they coulda tried after bags and the taser. from what I heard he pointed the gun at them and with someone who has lost it they have to look at the safety of themselves and people who were in the area. it just seems like he made his mind up but I wasn't there so that's just my opinion. a life is a life though regardless. I just wish they coulda tried something else.

They could've shot him in the leg, took him down and do it the safest way. But no, these untouchable dicks we call cops take lives and then aren't punished. This man is dead, and people want to defend the cops. F*** that, this situation could've been handled different.
. Your screen name says it all. Go back to jail and get your 3 meals a day and play cards all day!. You have no idea what Law Enforcement entails!
