I think everyone is different. Maybe mild cases might be cured but mine wasn't mild and are no better after the treatment and naftin gel. One toe is even worse now after the treatment. Any word on the other one getting FDA approval? I'm thinking of doing Lamisil, maybe by summer they would be better.
Hey Jean,
How bad is your case? I have four toes which I think are in pretty bad condition...I am thinking about getting this laser therapy done, but I saw your report and now somewhat hesitant. Thanks to any information or progress reports you provide. God bless

I can email you pictures if you want, I wouldn't recommend spending the money on it.

So, some of you may have seen some of my previous posts on the Noveon laser for nail fungus. When approved, it may be the only laser that will have been FDA approved for the specific treatment of nail fungus. Well, it has been delayed by the FDA and may not be approved until June or July. Fortunately there is another laser that is now available, quite similar to the Noveon (diode, infrared laser), and so far the results are very favorable. We have been treating since December, 2009, recommend a 3 treatment course over 8 weeks and the price starts at a very reasonable $250 for 1 nail ($50 for each additional). We also include a topical and shoe spray for prophylactic treatment that you start after the first treatment. You can see more details on my website, www.Yes2BareFeet.com or email me at [email protected] I am located in Roseville and welcome any questions.

It's been 1 year since you have the procedure - how are your nails? Alos, did you go somewhere in RI - I'm looking for some place near Boston.

Hi Kiley,

A year later they are no better and one nail that had been good prior to the treatment is now affected so I guess I'd say they are worse.

Hi all, I had the PinPointe treatment done in mid-September. It's now early November, and I *think* I see some improvement on my great toe; the nail itself seems smoother and shinier, and the infection appears to be healing in "streaks", rather than in a straight line from the nail bed up, if that makes sense. I also had some very mild fungal involvement of some lesser toes; I just clipped off the last of that infection and there's no sign of it returning. If anyone wants to see the pictures I've taken every month, please provide an e-mail address and I'll send them to you.

Has anyone tried the CoolTouch CT3 laser treatment?

http://www.abcarticledirectory.com/Article/Ta...

Hope this link works. It covers a comparison of the Pinpointe laser and the one still yet to receive FDA, Noveon. Both of these lasers were designed for dentistry. This dr that wrote this article says the Cooltouch was used in skin treatments and is far better than the other two. He says the Cooltouch is clearly light years ahead of the Pinpointe and Noveon lasers.

I have 3 fingernails that are infected that I've struggled with for nearly 6 yrs. One does look remarkably better but both thumbs are really bad and very painful. I can't take lamisil and have tried every home method out there. I couldn't find any dr that would try the pinpointe on my hands. I just want this stuff gone!

I paid $1000 thinking it woud help me with infection. I was afraid of taking Lamasil due to potential health risk. I have had 2 treatment which took a maximum of 10 minutes. The doctor filed down my toe nails. I have not seen any improvement. I am looking for something. I have it on both 3 toes on each foot. The doctor and his assistant claimed I would see results. I have not worn toe polish for almost a year. It has not grown in different. I feel pretty duped. I would wait before spending the money. I think the doctors are getting rich off of our despartaion.

It has now been 5 months and I had another treatment done a month ago. One toenail has grown in and shows improvement but the other has shown no improvement at all. The doctor told me to wait for another 3 months to see if the nail grows in clear. I would wait before spending the money, at $1,100 it is expensive and I am not convinced my nails are cured!

Well, it's been a while since my last post here so here is an update on the Noveon laser for nail fungus. FDA approval is still up in the air and so possibly is the company. Many internal changes with the company certainly do not give me the greatest gut feeling about their future. The Noveon may still make it to market without FDA approval. In the mean time I have continued to research other options for laser nail fungus treatment. Based on the results I have seen and after talking to both physicians with the laser and visiting the companies manufacturing facility, I can honestly say tht the hands down leader in the fungal laser arena is a company by the name of CoolTouch. Their CoolBreeze Ct3plus laser is far auperior to the PinPoint or Noveon lasers. The company specializes is lasers for DERMATOLOGY use only. Check for doctors in your areas that may have it for nail fungus. The cost should be substantially less than the PinPointe also (or the Noveon should it ever make it to the market). You can see more information on the CoolBreeze laser at www.Yes2BareFeet.com . Best to all in your search for the best treatment options.

Lisa,
As a podiatrist in the Sacramento area that is treating toenail fungus (and finger nails when warranted) with good success I want you to call my office and talk to me personally. You should have had some visible results by now (3 months since your last post). I have a possible solution for you. You will have to get my office number from my site at www.Yes2BareFeet.com . Hope you see this post and hope to hear from you.

I just had the laser treatment on my toenails last week using the cooltouch laser. It's too early to tell yet. However looking at the nails a week after the treatment, it's obvious the laser had some kind of effect on the nails and/or fungus. The infected areas look very different now than they did a week ago. I have a six-week followup scheduled for a second treatment. I'll keep you updated on the progress of the treatment.

Darren,
Did you see Dr. Katz in Tampa? Just curious if it wasn't him please let me/us know who you saw as the more success stories with the cooltouch the better...though we know that it is much superior to the PinPointe in effectiveness. I also like to know who else is using the cooltouch around the country.
Thanks

Yes. I saw Dr. Katz for the Cooltouch laser treatment. This was the first time I met him. Very friendly and easy-going. I quizzed him a little bit about the laser while he was doing the treatment. He seemed pretty passionate even in person about how much better the cooltouch was than the other lasers being used. I hope he's right. I'll know one way or the other in a few months. I've got another session with him in about three weeks. As far as I know, he's the only podiatrist in the Tampa bay area using the cooltouch. However, I do know there is another place in Naples using it. Here's their link: http://www.familyfootandlegcenter.com/naillas...

i have had the pinpointe laser treatment performed 2x and IT DID NOT WORK.
i find the high rate of improvement cited by the manufacturers and the dr's very suspect.
my advice - if you just started noticing a fungal infection it might be worth a try - but i have a feeling that it does not work in long-term infections.
also - no dr. tested my toenails to see if it was indeed fungus and not something else such as psoriasis prior to taking my $ for the procedure.
not recommended.
