As any horse owner will testify, a wasted, burned up load of hay is just a massive tragedy. So, so sad.

I'm sure that they had plenty of iron and manpower on hand, Hazmat cleaning up, managing traffic, filing reports. Probably three units plus a "commander",couple of Chp for more traffic control and investigetion, plus the Sheriff's rep, maybe a couple of more just for good measure.
Use to be they responded to a accident, tended to the injured, and cleared the lanes. Now it's a three alarm response if a gallon of coolent or, God forbid, fuel hits the pavement.
It's a combination of CYA and job protection that closes highways for hours at at time. There have been several accidents south of Chico that they actually closed the highway, rerouted traffic for relative minor non-injury accidents.
More FF snoozing away on overtime won't change that.

Agreed they, civil service, public safety are all getting drunk out of the pubic trough. It went out of control long before homeland security boosted there ranks.

Daily Horoscope for December 21

Aquarius

Although you're still feeling sociable and outgoing, the Solstice brings the need for a little time to yourself now and then. It's time to temper your busy social life with some precious moments of solitude. Make sure you do, as this need is something important and life-enhancing. It will certainly recharge your inner batteries, which might be a little run down.
