I heard about this through a friend whos childrens school was closed . I picked up my own child from elementry although the school has NOT notifed any parents. They are keeping the children in for Recess and the doors are locked.
I feel that parents have the right to know there is a gunman running around and should decide what THEY want to do about their own child.

I live on Villanova's main campus (really close to south)and Villanova didn't let any of us know that anything was even happening. I started to go to my 8:30 class, but someone's mom called and told us to stay inside. Meanwhile...there were K-9 units, the S.W.A.T. team, Radnor Police, and helicopters protecting the freshman. People were out and about, on their way to classes, while the freshman thought the world was ending. Is that weird to anybody else?
If he was trying to bring alcohol into a dorm or was parked without a parking pass, they would have had him in jail by 4:45 am. Maybe they didn't catch the shooter because when they went to reach for their guns they pulled out breathalizers instead.
I had friends that woke up at 3 and didn't know anything had even happened on south that day.
At first they thought it was possibly another surprise visit from Tony Yayo and 50 Cent.

I go to highschool in Villanova and i knew of nothing amiss until I went in and a teacher wouldnt let me go out another door. I soon found out what was happening. Our school was in lock down for probably 3 hours that morning, but then the police called my school with evidence that the gunman was not in the area. Since then things have been calming down, but knowing that hes still out there is enough to wrack your nerves a little. I agree that parents should be notified when there's a gunman loose in the area. And that is very strange about the upperclassman of Villanova U going on to their classes as the freshmen panic. Very interesting..I'll be eager as to hear why..
