So glad to see that the first ammendment is quickly dying in this country. So nice to see that todays youth are prevented from growing a spine by their parents spineless actions. Some day soon, this country is going to be be full of complete morons like these parents and i can only hope i'm rich enough to buy an island to get away from them all. These parents do not yet realize that what they did to that teacher is actually chipping away at our citizen's rights. You stop someone from blogging, you censor the internet, you burn books, the government controls the sheep. For God's sake, stop being sheep!!

Everybody's guilty. The student is a budding constapo Obama hater who couldn't follow the spirit of the assignment to write a political opinion piece in "a conciliatory manner" like that of "Lincoln's second inaugural address," while the teacher is witless enough to blog on a site called prettyfreaky.blogspot.com . The teacher's out of a job, and the kid will grow up top be another self centered moron. And that pretty much sums everything up.

Ms. Collins is quite impetuous. That's fine if she were in a position with tenure and not a parochial school. It's quite unfortunate because she appears to be well-educated and committed to teaching.

Yet if the student blogged about her teacher whom she would name, post all manner of inflammatory lies and name calling she would be protected.

This is obviously a case where our court system is not keeping up with society.

America has the modern world worst education system although we far outspend all other countries - shit like this is the reason people like me who majored in ed never taught. Student teaching was all it took to open my eyes.

We should learn from Japan (nearly all Japanese go to private schools where the teacher can beat the shit out of you, fists, kicks and so forth and the students parents apologize.

I started to read this article , until I got to this part ....

The student's parents took quick exception to that post, telling the school that even though the blog did not identify their daughter by name, it was aimed at her and was an "attack on a child."

sounds like a "testimonial" to the teachers blog......

As usual, a progressive teacher tried to put down the "wrong-thinking" student ... and "re-educate" her for the good of the "collective". I'm sure she will be welcomed with open arms by the public school system as "teacher of the year" for her indoctrination techniques. I am also sure this teacher was one of the students at her college who threw eggs at any conservative who dared to try to speak at her college.

Sounds like this teacher was a victim of yuppie scum with a sense of entitlement that would make the worst welfare queen blush. The parents sound like total scum with no respect for the free speech rights of others, but then they are right wingers so what else can you expect? I hope the teacher sues and bankrupts the 'school.'
