Yes people need to take this seriously. People need to also get educated on HSUS . Licensed Dog breeders take care of and love their dogs . If all dogs are spayed & Neutered ,than some day their will be NO PUPPIES.

If there are mills out there like you say, wouldn't they already be liable do animal cruelty? Why did you word the bill the way you did if it is to help puppies? I know a lot of farmers and they are already getting the shaft from the government. If you want to pass the bill, puppies in no uncertain terms it is for puppy mills. Wording Is paramount to these. Rewrite and try again.

When prop b passed It did not shut down unlicensed dog breeders. The inspectors went after Licensed Dog breeders. Some of these breeders had held a state and usda license for many years. These breeders were written up for anything and everything.Breeders figured out that they could not please these inspectors So they close their kennel. The inspectors can come to inspect the kennels anytime between 8 and 5 . So if you have not finished cleaning when the inspector shows up you are written up for not being in compliance. The inspectors may go to 2 or 3 kennels a day.If the breeders are not at home the inspector can not inspect. So $$$$$$$$$$$ wasted. We do not need to be told how to take care of our animals.

And stuff like this keep getting passed because people are too ignorant to ask how could this be used other than what it appears on the surface. Bills language need to be clear and direct. There is no place for interpretation of the laws. They need to be worded clear enough to only do what it is unintended. Ambiguous laws only serve to obfuscate and criminalize more honest citizens for the criminal system. We need some major law reforms. Too many violations of the spirit of the laws for this to keep up. All the rights we lost from the patriot act should be evidence enough of this.

I am fed up with Responable breeders being called puppymills ! It is time that the Responable dog breeders stand up and do something about this. We raise family pets .We are state and usda licensed .And we pay for these license. We pay tax s.We support the vets the feed stores We shop at the local super market. These breeders who do not have a state or usda license never get inspected because the inspectors don't know how to find them. However due to lack of knowledge given to the public.ALL DOG BREEDERS HAVE BEEN PUT IN THE SAME CATAGORIE . GET educated on licensed dog breeders and unlicensed dog breeders .
