This is always a fun subject but I think we all know this is never going to happen.

A bunch of states have done that. It's symbolic. I think it happens pretty much after every election.

We should let them go.

We should send them a letter saying their petition has been granted, we are removing their star from the flag and giving it to Puerto Rico, and letting them know clearly what our borders are.

How long do you think it would take them to say "Oh Fuuuuuuu....dge. We were kidding. Really! Please don't!!!"

Do we ever ask what these poor red states have in common that are financial liabilities? Little things like SNAP, TANF, Medicaid and Section 8 could be contributing factors.

West Virginia is a spectacular example as it's over 90% white, is being ecologically raped by coal barons with the blessings of both parties and has always had high unemployment, even when the rest of the nation is booming.

I've spoken with fellow yankees who think the southern states are a bunch of beggars. I used to think the same way. Till I moved down here and saw reality.

Blue states have the same financial liabilities, especially states like NY and CA. I don't think red states are a bunch of beggars and Iím a yankee as you call it as well. I never even heard or spoke to anyone that thinks that way. Any time I hear about anyone being a bunch of beggars and slackers itís the red states referring to the blue ones. This thread here is proof of that.

I already gave my reason why in a response to Bill in Dville for the financial difference between the red and blue states. Blue states tend to be more heavily populated. Therefore there are more people paying in. Also states like NY have state and city taxes that make them less depend on federal taxes

Has anyone noticed how nasty and vile some of these liberal Obama supporters have become?
They claim to be tolerant and caring and believe in people having different views. They believe in loved and diversity.
That is not what I am seeing. I am seeing nasty, hateful, vile, post by people attacking people that may have different views than them. It doesn't give me a really good feeling knowing that these people are out there claiming to be Obama supporters acting like ignorant thugs
If this post is not about you then don't even give it a thought.
We can spar back and forth but being downright filthy is just giving Obama and his liberal friends a bad rap.
Perhaps they are doing it trying to shut us up. It won't work as I will just ignore these bad post and continue on with my business as usual.

+1 I agree 100%

Itís a shame the party that is supposed to stand for tolerant and diversity are behaving this way. While I differ with republicans on social issue as abortions and gay marriage I do respect their rights to have their opinions and beliefs. Itís sad that they just assume everyone that voted for Romney is an old white male racist. Well I voted for Romney and Iím not white, a man, or racist and I know damn well nobody better not refer to me as old. Lol :)

Who are you going to pick on after Boortz retires Jan. 2013?
Don't worry I have faith in you. You will find a new hero.
