Monday, February 3, 6 PM - 1st school board meeting since Snow Jam 2014.
The meeting will take place at the Douglas County Central Administrative Offices which are located at:
9030 Highway 5
It's the first chance for voters to face Frosty the Superintendent.
151 of the 156 school districts in the state got it right. Douglas County did not.
Should be an interesting meeting.

Jesus...I swear. Dude said he f-ed up. My only problem with him is he discounted the meteorologist who warned him by telling the sentinel "Did he tells you he lives in Dallas". That is ridiculous. Other than that, dude fessed up and admitted he screwed up. So did the gov. Kaseem, not so much.
So big f-ing deal....5 districts didn't get it right...all metro Atlanta. Monkey see-Monkey do. Everyone can be assured that next time it is forecast to snow school will be called and parents will be pissed because they gotta do something with their kids, even it looks like it won't materialize.
I do not understand what people want. I heard there was a twitter hashtag sue douglas county or something like that. Pathetic. People don't want the government in their lives, then when it snows everyone cries and wonders where they were. GET OVER IT! It happens once every three years. It was 72 yesterday. MOVE THE HELL ON.
My neighbor's kids got stuck. They were fine. They had fun. THEY DID NOT CARE. It was something they'll always remember. They weren't in any danger. 28 years ago when I was in second grade in another northern state, the same thing happened. I was stuck on a bus for 5 hours in snow. And sick. I puked on the bus. It was horrible. But you know what? No cell phones, no internet, my mom knew the school would get me home. And they did...they dropped me off eventually 1/4 mile from my house and I walked home as always, only this time it was 8 inches of snow and I was barfing. Did we complain? No...it's life. There are so many worse things in life than some kids getting stuck on buses and in school for then night. There really is. Don't believe? Go down to the cancer ward at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta and ask them where they'd rather be: in a hospital bed or stuck all night at school and cancer free. I think you know your answer. Remember, it could always be worse.
I really don't understand Citizen. Just what do you want from Frosty? Should he pay you for your pain and suffering? Buy you a salt truck? Hire tutors for your kids? Help Krogers restock bread and frozen pizza (because damn it they were all out yesterday and I wanted one so this is a logical punishment for me and I"ll support you on this)? What?????

The public meeting starts at 7. The meeting at 6 is in executive session.
There 180 public school systems in this state, not 156.
What outcome are you seeking?

Sounds like it was pretty much a non event, as it should have been. In fact, it appears that even Citizen must not have been that concerned otherwise he/she would have signed up to speak....

If we want our schools and children to succeed we need support from students, parents , teachers and the community. All of the metro schools followed the same procedure concerning an unprecedented series of events that left thousands stranded. Calling our superentend names only shows your lack of support, anger and immaturity.
The fact is that all children in metro Atlanta were well cared for and eventually brought back home safely. Things happen, thats life, so GET OVER IT . Sometimes things happen that we are not prepared for and thats when the true charactor of a person shows. Obviously yours has , and in an ugly hateful way.

I was willing to give the superintendent a break and benefit of the doubt, until I read his response to a Sentinel reporter asking about the DC graduate/weather forecaster from Ft. Worth urging him to let school out earlier. His answer, "Did he tell you where he lived?" brought up some huge red flags with me. If this is his reasoning, then how does the Cobb County, GA based forecaster at the Weather Channel predict weather in Portland, OR? As for other school systems, like my parents taught me, just because your friend is going to jump off a barn roof, does that mean you're going to jump with him?
