Alexander is having a decent year in football! Parents should be trying to get their players "out there" if the coach isn't proactive. The current MaxPreps rankings (high to low) are as follows for Douglas County schools:
Alexander: 4-3, Region: 2-2, State Rank 112
DC: 2-5, Region: 0-2, State Rank 153
New Manchester: 4-4, Region: 4-4, State Rank 184
Chapel Hill: 3-4, Region: 3-1, State Rank 323
Lithia Springs: 0-7, Region: 0-7, State Rank 410

At least Chapel Hill did not lose BIG, but it was only because they DID NOT play!
What an embarrassment this county and its programs are.

Another lost weekend with several blowouts and blown losses for Douglas County Teams.

saw this too....

“There are a lot of people that doubt what they do.” Alexander head coach Matt Combs said

Hey Combs get a clue, it isn't that people doubt what they do, it is they doubt what " YOU do" and are doing that makes people see how clueless you are. Bottom line is....If Alexander had a good coach, Sandy Creek would have been beat. YOU blew it.

Watch what Carrollton does to you Friday night. It is going to be real ugly.

Combs has no clue how to coach a team - as do none of these county coaches.

Go out get some real coaches and support them and change the atmosphere.

Look what happened at Colquitt County. They hired a great coach and turned around a program that had been a loser for years.

All it takes is someone that knows the game and has the brains to teach it.

Sounds like a typical whiny mommy whose kid didn't make the starting lineup. Or the team.

Although Alexander played a good game, not likely they would beat the top ranked team in the state for their classification.

This state ranked team - Sandy Creek - probably took them real lightly and were looking forward to some real competition when they play Carrollton after Alexander. This was a trap game for Sandy Creek.

I agree, Alexander will probably lose by at least 40 plus this week against Carrollton.

But all of Douglas County teams are horribly coached and are embarrassments to those of us who like football.

Carrollton has Alexander as a trap game this week, but I'll bet they won't take it easy or treat them any differently than they have most teams they played this year. IF Alexander scores even 14 points, I;ll be surprised. I say 45 - 14 Carrollton and the third string plays most of the 4th quarter.

As for the others DC schools and their games and how they play, I remove my self but in reality, they are nothing more than quitters.

You sure do complain about coach combs a lot. Do you really have any clue what you're talking about? I don't think so. Why don't you use your real name and tell us the FACTS and not just your opinion.

Watch what happens tonight as Carrollton rolls into Alexander. There won't be 9 - NINE STARTERS suspended from this team like Sandy Creek played with.

Carrollton by at least 40 or more. 55-14 at best. Combs get the real deal for sure.

And wasn't this the team the senior left for because of Combs and his ignorant knowledge and coaching style? The kid had no offers while under Combs and went to Carrollton and has over 15 D-1 offers I hear.

Sorry state of football in D C for sure.

Cougar Lady looking, you were so right! 63-21 and Alexander coaches got embarrassed. Notice I said coaches, because the players did as good as they were coached.

Your right, Combs is clueless. The talent is there, the coaching is not - it is that simple.

Losing 63-21 oh my. Those kids deserve better coaching for sure.

See how bad it was for yourselves. Real emabarassed that this principle allows this kind of coaching. Notice how well the Carrollton staff manages the team and how well coached they are.

Time for changes for sure at this and other DC schools.

Alexander scored more points on Carrollton than any other team has this season, and the points were scored before the 4th quarter.

Carrollton may be a great football team but with their players' rantings on social media about how they think Alexander's team lacks spirituality, I think it is quite ironic that last night during the Presentation of Colors, as well as during The National Anthem, the Carrollton players were doing their pregame chants and "hooping and hollering" at the end of the field. That is so disrespectful!

FACT#1. Carrollton was up 47-7 at the half....and could have scored two more TD's. Carrollton played their 3rd string most all of the 3rd quarter and all the 4th quarter.

They could have scored 80

Fact #2 The coaches, football starters - main 40 players - and others were behind the fence and scoreboard on the baseball field - some 50 yards behind North Fence area having their pre game prep talks and COULD NOT see or hear that that the Pre game colors or presentation were being held. The other JV players were honoring pre game activities as they should have. I am embarrassed that visitors have NO LOCKER room to meet in before the game. That is pathetic and disrespectful.

Get a locker room for visiting teams and quit embarrassing the school.

I was sitting on the far side of the concession stand, which is on about the 10 yard line; the AHS Band musicians' seats begin at the 20 yard line at the other end of the field. That would make it about 70 yards from where I was standing to where the band sits, and I could hear The National Anthem loud and clear. There were pauses between the chants, and I could see the Carrollton players, so they certainly would have been able to hear.

If it makes you feel better to make a jab at the lack of a locker room (that players have no control over), then good for you.

I was there at the game too and was a Carrollton fan - team mom too sitting on those things ya'll call bleachers.

Ever seen those sound barricades on the interstates that block traffic noise from houses and apts where people live? Your large left field board acted in the same way.

It is obvious you have no clue how it is to be in a locker room for a pre game coaches pep talk. Your attention is not on the pre game activities when your in the woods and behind a 40' left field foul line sound barrier.

Get the visitors a locker room and get back to us. ANd while you at it, how about some bathrooms for us ladies. The woods should be smelling pretty pissy about now.

As I said, I could see the team from the far 10 yard line, so they we not behind the barrier, they were next to it. But I supposed they could have forgotten that at every football game The National Anthem is played before the game?

You are the Team Mom? Now, I understand it is not just some of the players who lack class.

Technically they are called bleachers...not sure what they call them in Carrollton.

Visitors locker rooms...well we got better things to spend out money on. Just do not ask me what because I do not know and I do not care but get over it.

Women's restroom are on the home side of the field. Sorry to trouble you to walk over there but being from Carrollton I am sure ya'll are good at peeing in the woods. YEE HAW!

I can settle this once and for all. Let's just end the football programs. This would save taxpayer money. Then you wouldn't need to complain about not having a locker room or having bad coaches.
Next, you whiny forever complaining folks can spend your own money to participate in sports outside of the educational system.

Now that's a bright comment coming from a dark source.

Football in Douglas County is horrible and a waste but most funds come from outside of the "taxes" paid by county resident.

Taxes for athletic programs are bare rock bottom. Hope this helps the clueless.
