I just bought a 1 year membership 3 months ago to the Flex Fitness gym and have found out that it was sold during the closer for the remodel and the NEW owner is not honoring anybody's membership from Flex Fitness. I am out $800 and the NEW owner dosen't care. I was kicked out asking for info to try and get my money back. Really wanted to make sure all of the other members of the Flex Fitness Gym are aware of the situation. WE ARE ALL OUT OF OUR MONEY. Please let me know how many more members are out there that are as upset as I am!!

Flex Fitness has always had a rep for cheating members. I guess the new owner plans to carry on the tradition.

I am SO mad!! According to ASF the company who takes out our payments our accounts are on hold. They gave me a number to call, but no one answers. Who owned Flex last and how do we get in touch with them?? I was told by the new Toe to Toe gym that they did not buy Flex. ASF told me if Flex is ever sold I would be responsible for paying my contracted amount. So I can't sign another contract! What can we do? I filed with the BBB of Ga and the haven't gotten a response back either. Anyone with ideas or even an address of the previous owner let me know! I don't care about the money at this point just give me a letter stating I am out of my contract

Sorry Flex screwed you guys over royally. I was working out at express fitness. Recently decided to join toe 2 toe and couldn't be any happier. The new owner has nothing to do with Flex. Maybe you guys should cut the new owner some slack. I really feel sorry for the new owner that Flex's former members come in and give this guy a hard time and think the new owner should honor something he had nothing to do with. Which I have witnessed on a daily basis. Yes, you got screwed move on. File claims against the former owners. I can't imagine it will do much good or be worth the hastle. Im sure the guy wished he had built a gym across the street. Finally Villa Rica has a nice gym. You should go by and see all the changes it's a total different place. Just my 2 cents

I totally agree. Lance is a Great guy and has nothing to do with anything that happened with Vicki- the owner of Flex. Lance has done a Great job with the place and it is finally a nice place to work out. I am very happy with the new fitness club and owner. Give Lance some respect.

When I talked with Lance he gave me the name of a lady to talk with at ASF about my contract with Flex. When I spoke with this lady she had in her notes that Lance was the name of the possible new owner of Flex Fitness and it was still pending. She told me not to sign another contract because he could then hold me to both contracts. Hmmm...
Then when I talked to the persons who are renting the building to Toe to Toe they told me the contract was taken over by Lance and his wife, not a new contract as they have stated. I think something fishy is again going on..

Former Flex Fitness member from long ago...

They went from mediocre...to WORSE! now to NON-existtant!

Listen people. You have really got to relax and start to understand the situation for what it is. The terminology i am seeing from previous posting, as well as your mindsets are ALL off key.
Number 1: If a business goes "out of business" and another company moves into the same space, why would you assume this new company owes you ANYTHING? IT DOESNT!

Number 2: The new gym wanting to open up in the same location as Flex Fitness has a legal option to buyt out the LEASING contract as for it to operate from that location. This said mentioned contract is for the LEASE of the building/location. This is NO WAY has ANYTHING to do with buying the business of "Flex Fitness"!
I would think most people would/could understand these facts with just using some common sense.
I no doubt sympothize with you for your loss as this place went out of business. However, you might wish to read your contracts or like me, NOT sign contracts with such places such as the type of business that Flex Fitness was. The owners(all of them in the past 8 years) have shown poor service in MANY aspects. HENCE, the reason why i never used the place after a few short monhts of seeing just how crappy they were.
I could name numerous incidences and poor service i have seen over there years.
These are just my opinions. Hope I didnt offend anyone but the facts are the facts. Be smarter when you sign a piece of paper obligated you to any length of time and make a better decision when you feel the need to do so at all. Flex was a joke! Nothing ever worked properly, they did not even have a water fountain for Gods Sake and the equipment there was from an era that the technology is far outdated, it was garbage! and so were the owners! Thats why they bailed on you, with your money in there pockets!
Hopefully some insight

I absolutely had to share my thoughts on this situation with everyone! I was a member at flex and active in the aquatics program and even worked some for Vicki Jordan the owner at the desk and in the childcare which I was never paid for. I was aware of alot of things that were going on with Mr. Fred Little coming in (and by the way as far as we know he still has all of the members personal information such as social sec.#s and bank account #s). I immediately changed my account number when I learned of this. Vicki kept her plans of selling the gym secret until she was able to bail without paying me for the 2 weeks of work or letting anyone know what would happen with their contracts. She continued selling memberships right up until the day she bailed - they even sold so called key cards for $25 a peice that turned out to be worthless! The new owner did lead everyone to believe that he would in some way honor the contracts people had with Flex but when it came time to do it he decided against it! Lance Noles the new owner of toe 2 toe even led all of the people who were in the aquatics program that he would continue to operate the pool as it was the only one in Villa Rica. My personal opinion is that Lance did not want the type of people (mainly elderly and not so physically fit) that were in the aquatics program as part of his gyms new image. Toe 2 toe is a very nice facility with nice equipment and if that is the type of atmosphere where you feel comfartable then great but the majority of people who went to Flex went there because there were all types of people and everyone fit in and felt comfartable. As for Vicki I truly believe what goes around comes around and I don't belive that she is happy now or will be prospering in the near future because of all the wrong she did people who backed her up and put their faith in her!

Hey Jennifer and all, my name is Amanda Culberson and I am in the same boat as you guys. A few months before Flex went out of business I received a brochure in the mail that was a scratch off for a certain discount on memebership. I was a "gold prize winner" which meant I could get a membership for $99.00/yr for a contract of 3 years. Since I paid upfront I supposedly got 3 extra months free and 3 free weeks of tanning bed. I should have known something was weird because the people selling these memberships were not even part of the gym. It was like a separate company. The tanning beds were a joke. They were not monitored by anyone and each person was responsible for setting their own time and cleaning the beds themselves. Both times I went I got lightbulbs burns up and down my body. I tried to tell them about this and they guy at the counter acted like I was crazy and no one else had ever complained of this. Also, there were always people that didn't pay that were hanging out there or using the pool. Unfortunately, I lost all my money as well as many others I'm sure. I would love to see this Vicki Jordan lady have a class action lawsuit filed against her. I guess one thing I can say is...I learned my lesson the hard way on this one.

Flex was horrible and Toe to Toe is even worse, yes the equipment is better than Flex but your paying top dollar to use equipment that is not even top of the line. We went into the gym and the owner told us that he had the TOP of the LINE BodyMasters equipment. After going home and doing some research of BodyMasters he has the bottom edtiton of their equipment when in reality he has the CX series which is their cheapest model. Another thing that turned me off is that on his preacher curl machine he had two towels covering up two big rips in it, but you want to charge $34.99 a month, give me a break. This place is a total ripoff and then to make it worse all of the equipment is used..If you want a real good gym with top of the line equipment checkout the new American Bodyworks in Villa Rica, this gym has premium Life Fitness equipment and all of the cardio equipment has their own individual television attached to it. This is the best gym in Villa Rica and also has the cheapest monthly rates.

To the comments listed above some inaccurate statements have been presented about Toe2Toe Fitness and need to be corrected. Below are just some of the benefits this fitness center offers. Toe2Toe Fitness has a daycare center which is staffed 6 days a week with two plasma TV's for the viewing pleasure for the children of our members with many activities to keep them entertained while the adults can enjoy our facility in complete comfort their children are being taken care of. Toe2Toe Fitness has group fitness classes 6 days a week with your choice of classes in the A.M or P.M to fit your needs. The group fitness classes at Toe2Toe Fitness have certified instructors teaching every class NOT a DVD playing over a plasma TV with a loud speaker. The trainers are encouraged to take personal time with the members to ask any questions they might have to be able to reach their fitness goals. Toe2Toe Fitness doesn't require the personal trainers to give any of their earnings to the gym which in turn saves members money. Toe2Toe Fitness has memberships as low as 29.99 a month which include all your classes and 24hr access. Toe2Toe Fitness has 6 tanning beds four of which have high pressure bulbs in the facial area with a high low switch for your preference. Toe2Toe Fitness is also proud to announce the opening of Unit2 Fitness inside of Toe2Toe Fitness where even more classes are being offered. Unit2 Fitness specializes in martial arts and fitness programs. This program combines training methods from mixed martial arts with functional strength training to push you to your personal limits every time you step into the gym. For more information on Unit2 Fitness go to www.unit2fitness.com . Inside Toe2Toe Fitness they use the Body Master CX line of equipment which is actually the top of the line Body Masters offers and the link to verify this is at http://www.bodymasters.com/bmsi/cx/cx.html Body Masters does have three lines of equipment the CX Series, Premier Series, and the Basix Series. The CX Series being there elite line. Inside Toe2Toe Fitness there are no carpeted floors anywhere all of the floors are covered with 3/8 inch rubber matting which will never have the gym smelling of body odor or have germs & bacteria living in it. The group fitness room is available to be used by any member at any time as long as no class is being held. The owner is there 6 days a week and I'm sure if you tell him that you read this post he will probably give you a free week with no enrollment fee when you sign up. Please when buying a gym membership just make sure you're the one comparing apples to apples and not letting some sales guy or advertisement do it for you. Toe2Toe Fitness is in no way trying to say any other gym on the West side of Atlanta isn't a nice gym they are just trying to make sure the correct information is being presented so that you can make an educated decision. At Toe2Toe Fitness the most important thing is that you have a gym membership that you use and a gym that best fits you. I ask you to visit Toe2Toe Fitness and view the links above and make your own judgment and I'm sure you will walk away knowing this a great Fitness Center.

They clean the childcare room with lysol. He is there everyday except Sunday's but even when he's not you can still go because it's 24 hour. So if you had a bad experiance before go there now and it will change your whole thought!!!!

"..cleans all the equipment two times a week". That's disgusting. Gym equipment cleaned twice a -week-? My gym's staff scans the place constantly, every day, to see if something needs to be cleaned. It only takes one rude customer a couple of minutes to mess up a few machines.
