One of the major takeaways from this election was watching, in real time, the Republican party learn that if they want to stay relevant, they simply must recognize that their base of white males just won't translate to victories anymore

"White people vote for white people like it's going out of style," "And like most things white people do, it's going out of style."

In other words, Republicans have "the same problem as the Beach Boys: Their fans are dying."

I, like many white women, voted for Barack Obama and are proud to admit it!!!

Fox News and Rush Limbaugh have given a green light to racism in this country. It has taken it so far that the ignorance of racism isn't even questioned any longer -- instead it's manifested into something rather ugly and blatant, if not militant. In that sense, Fox News has been incredibly damaging to the social fabric and political establishment of this country. We are subjected to such ridiculous questions from the media as to whether a chair hanging from a noose is racist. Duh! But, freedom of speech is just that -- people can say what they want -- whether it's based in truth or ignorance. However, there is a majority in this country that find racism and bigotry incredibly offensive and we also speak our minds and vote our conscience. We won this time and we will win the next and so on. When you resort to childish fits in an election when you also profess to love democracy is sheer hypocrisy. And when the rest of the country doesn't share your small, ugly values, or fit into your Fox News bubble of ignorance, lies and foolishness, maybe you really should move to another country. My guess is that Fox News has about 2- 5 years left with its brand of hate entertainment.

In any case,,,'the times they are a changin'" was correct.
"African Americans could vote 1865. The first one to be elected was Edward Brooke in 1966." "The 15th amendment to the US Constitution was ratified in 1870 and gave former male slaves the legal right to vote. However, many southern states added requirements such as literacy tests and poll taxes that were designed to keep blacks from voting. In 1957, Congress passed a Civil Rights Act that made it difficult to deny voting rights based on race." Not so long ago, a man of color being President would have been a thought many southern whites could not fathom. I think some of them still can't.

Obama has done more to hurt race relations than anyone in modern history and that has been by design. You can blame white people all you want, but we didn't have the level of hatred that we have now(at least not in my lifetime) until Obama came on the scene. You Obama supporters are so self-righteous and you are SO sure that you are right. Well, time will tell, won't it? Let's wait and see what happens.
You talk about FOX preaching hate. Well, you all are FULL of hate for white people and in particular Republicans and you're getting THAT from somewhere. I guess you give a pass to MSNBC and that ilk. Yeah, you Democrats are just regular paragons of virtue, aren't you? Well, just rave on cats*it. You'll get buried one day and the man with the shovel is sitting in the WH. Congratulations.

Oh come on! If you believe a word of the BS you just typed you belong in an institution. It has NOTHING to do with achieving the goals of a country and everything to do with the politics of hate and lies that you've been spoonfed.

I must say that, while demographic shift is causing a redistribution in the electorate in this country, playing the politics of division and hate will get us, as a country, nowhere. Fast. One has to remember that there are exceptions to every rule. Recently, a Black celebrity, Stacey Dash, took a lot of flack for voting for Mitt Romney. She, like I, voted for the candidate we felt best able to bring our country back from the precipice of the abyss. NOT because of an ethnicity, but because of an ideology. I am not in the racial majority, but am a person who happens to NOT be a Democrat largely because I disagree with an entitlement-based philosophy that I believe is seriously damaging our nation. There is nothing wrong with hard work, and it isn't right to allow many who achieve the most to be forced to provide for everybody, particularly those who are not attempting to help themselves. Social engineering and wealth redistribution are not enterprises in which I would like to see our government, and my tax dollars, engaged.

Great post, MLM. I agree. I have absolutely NO reserverations about voting for someone of another race if that person represents what I think is best for the country, not what is best just for me.

Do you really thik there is some kind of value in watching an election so obviously decided along racial lines? You realize the democrat party has just changed dramatically. Do you think the current race-based democrat electorate, including yourself, is going to vote for Biden in 2016 if there's a non-white democrat who runs against him?

Democrats had better get ready for Barak 2, because he/she's on the way. Great you say? Suppose this trend to vote only for non-whites continues? You do realize this means the democrats are about to evict all of their white people right?

White democrats are history and it will be at the hands of their non-white compatriots. Where will you go? Where will the republicans go? Where will white voters go when democrats have kicked them out and republicans fall apart? Think about that.

Obama has ushered in a glorious new age in American politics.

You're not even close. First of all, you surely have thought Rush was a "Racist" all along, so don't act like this is something new. But it's not Rush or Fox (don't forget evil old racist Fox also shows pics of Trayvon as a 12 year old TO THIS DAY). ALL of the media is slanted, even the sources YOU like. If you don't read them all, you don't know shiite.

But where you are very very wrong is your assumption of race-based politics. Your buddy Obama did that. First he used the race card to knock Hillary, a far more qualified candidate than Obama, off of her perch in the primaries. After that came the lines like "and by the way, he's black" and "I don't look like those guys on the dollar bills".

Personally, I'm glad to see Obama do this. Exposing the hideous anti-white racism in America will take more of it. And Obama's crew seems to be very very happy to apply every element of it. It doesn't matter than Obama can't win without white voters anymore. Democrats will keep electing non-white candidates until there are no moew white democrats. Bet you think that will be just grand don't you?

You should think about what all those white democrats who get kicked to the curb by race-based non-white democrat votes are going to do. Where will they go? Into the white majority (over 70% of the legal population)?

See, if non-whites practie race-based politics, what will whites do? Think before you celebrate because democrats have opened Pandorah's box.

That's really the fundamental problem, isn't it? Anti-white racism.

If only that was eliminated, there wouldn't be much to talk about regarding race issues in America, would there?

You're insane.

It's interesting how the majority of your posts are race related. From being blatantly bigoted and racist to being defensive or accusatory, you're always on about race.

You're just one generation away from Bubbas using the N-word. You've just dressed it up in fancier language.
