I hope someone runs against him at the election this year! I've seen the way he and the City Manager treat city employees and I think it's disgusting.

If the Mayor trims too many more jobs city services that are already suffering will suffer more. The city appears to be operating on skeleton staff. Meanwhile there are city council members who have held their seats for WAY too long. Don't they have term limits? They should!

We need some fresh people in office; who don't have their own agenda and have a level head. We need someone who will work for the citizens and not to enhance their funeral home.

When you talk about city depts. running on a skeleton crew you can't possibly be talking about the library. They are overstaffed in my opinion. There's one hateful woman over there that needs to GO before the sun goes down. She's rude to the customers and not at all what she should be concerning customer service. The only reason she has a job is because her husband is also employed by the city and if they get rid of her they would most likely lose him too.

I agree , they need to vote out the good ole boy network. Joey Kelly was in and he was concerned about everyone in his district not just mirrorlake. Everyone in a certain church got together to vote him out because of (get this) they wanted the trash day for pick up of limbs and such changed. What a bunch of morons! They got what they deserved though. An idiot that should not even run a boy scout camp , much less be a city official. The good ole boys stick together and it appears the only way to get rid of them is when they pass on . What a shame. The only part of Villa Rica thats good is the police dept. And Jeff Reese. The rest are a bunch of idiots and money mongers.

it seems the city is running fairly well to me.If you want HIGHER taxes in your big city home,I am sure they could jack them up and make sure you are happy. If your a democrat, your already on food stamps and welfare, living in a section 8 rental, so what are you complaining about?Does your mirror lake section 8 not have limb pickup on the day you want it?

I don't think people realize just how unethical the mayor, the council and the City Manager are!

The former assistant city manager, Eric Lacefield found out his job was being cut at a city council meeting; they all knew they were going to do it but waited until there to do it.

The mayor thinks he is above everything; he is one of the rudest individuals I have ever met. He is all about looking after his buddies.

If they keep cutting police officers the crime rate in Villa Rica will increase; each city council meeting is just a witch hunt looking for more people to axe. They are always looking for people to blame when a problem surfaces. The employees are going to work fearful each day of losing their jobs.

All this cutting money; cutting jobs but they can find all this money to make sure that everything looks pretty! They are going to lose the few good employees they have left if they aren't careful.

I agree that the bitch at the library needs to go. She has been rude to me on more than one occasion. She walks around like an amazon queen and refuses to help anyone. I was under the impression that our library was a place where we could go to get assistance. These employees work for the City of Villa Rica. If you don't think your tax dollars are being spent wisely by paying this woman's check, let someone know. Mayor Collins needs to know just exactly what is going on at that library. City Manager Larry Woods has been notified of her abusing her position but evidently he has no backbone and as of this date has done nothing to correct the problem. I am sick and tired of public servants that are paid well to assist us not doing their jobs.

Yes , we definitely need to clean house. Starting with the Mayor , then city manager and Barbara Daniels. Thats one of the most worthless employees there. What a shame. The water rates in Villa Rica are absurd.Whatever idiot came up with that ought to be horsewhipped. Just another way to gouge the citizens and keep thier high salaries. Way overpaid.

I would like to get information on running for Mayor of ,y Villa Rica.I have several ideas that I think would greatly improve the quality here and can not or will not be heard by Mr. Collins.I would love to run for this position and since I have no real platform I feel certain that I can help this great town.We need a lot of things here, yes a public pool, traffic lights at several intersection especialy on Industrial Blvd.,we need some of our roads if not repaved they need repair,A mode of transportation for needy and elderly to places other than the airport, they go also to the doctor to the grocery store to alot of places. We have a town that need thing's for the full time resident and not only the tourist, the tourist come and go ,yes they spend but us that stay yearround need things to.If I can get the information I would think hard about running thankyou.Dennis Wood 12 Luther circle Villa Rica GA.30180.

Why does Villa Rica hire woodard and curren to take care of water. They have the same employees that the City had before they hired somebody to take care of water. Seems to me that mayor is getting his palm greased by Woodard and Curren. City is paying for water treatment and the water is dirty. I would not drink it, it is probably harmful.

I know of a business that has turned the issue over to their lawyer and within the next 7 days a lawsuit is being filed on the City of Villa Rica for over 2 million dollars. They are also in the Mirror Lake area. Will let you all know our name once the city receives their papers. We have been in Villa Rica for the past 4 years with sales exceeding $4,000,000, employ 20+ people and are constantly being harassed by the city.

I think Jay is a super nice guy and a decent mayor. My daughter goes to his career booth every year at school because he's so good with children. I live in Villa Rica and our water isn't nor has ever been dirty. If you're concerned, get a filter for your faucet. Jay has helped me and my family out numerous times when a few years ago we had a huge rooster and chicken problem. I know it sounds funny, but where I live we have illegals all around who seem to think they are still in Mexico, and it's okay to have them, fight them, and allow them to run wild and roost wildly. Animal control did NOTHING till Jay got involved. Thankfully because he made them come out, site the offenders and they trapped and caught 400 plus. These roosters were attacking children and other people on our road.

I am not saying your idea's are bad, just that how would we pay for all of that and the upkeep? If we need anything it's safer play grounds @ the school's and cleaner school's as well. Not to mention the school's need a full time nurse!!! I volunteered @ GHE for a few years and wow! The play grounds are so unsafe. Kid's were hurt on a daily basis. If they are sick the nurse is hardly there and the kid's have to go to the office. I've seen kid's so sick they were throwing up, crying in pain and they do nothing. They won't even call the parents to let them know. I know there has to be a law against it.

Are you crazy? Last thing we need is a lawsuit! We All will pay for it! The rich people in Mirror Lake have beautiful home's in a safe neighborhood. I doubt people @ Mirror Lake are hurting! Go play golf or tennis @ your county club to relieve stress! Leave the rest of us out of your stupid suite!

Jay Collins is so anti- business ..unless of course you are talking about his own tackily over-decorated funeral home!! He acts like he is the "King of Villa Rica"... I would vote for anyone running against the arrogant hypocrite. He has been in office entirely too long...Let's vote this self ritous deceitful moron out once and for all!!!
