Yeah he keeps the town nice and clean on the south side of the tracks! What about the north side? We can even get the trees trimmed back or the grass cut on the sides of the road. The road conditions are at their worst! I was told that it was in the agenda to pave and reline Chicago Avenue, but he pulled it out at the last minute. You can't even see the lines when it's dark, must less when it rains! I got a feeling he is a one term mayor!

I don't get the joke. Do you really think tha whether he pays attention to the north side has anything to do with whether he is going to get reelected or not?
Judging from his driving skills, I don't think he can see your road conditions anyway. He needs a big raise though.

You're fortunate to have a man like Harvey running YOUR city.

Why he does this and puts up with ignorant post like these.....I have no clue.

If anyone can do a better job, run for Mayor next time.

You complain because he doesn't pave a road? Isn't it already paved? I have seen NO potholes or bad sections of this road. You're lucky it isn't dirt. Be thankful you live in the USA and not Africa where 99.5% of all roads are other than paved.

Good Grief!

If Harvey caught Gary Latimer breaking into his neighbor's house, why was Gary not arrested for breaking and entering? I imagine if he was, he would not have been released so soon. I bet Harvey just made that story up to be a hero...Real classy Harv, slander a dead man's name.

BoxCar, I have seen how this sad self centered little man can act from behind the curtain. And your response with the Africa zing is what I would expect from someone who supports Mr. Persons. You too must be a sad little Persons.

Hit the nail on the head. Knives to the backs of some of best cops to try and cover your own mistakes. But hey, sending pics of your junk is okay. Wow

Harvey is trying to do what he thinks is right. The chief of police is trying to do what he thinks will not get him in trouble, but maybe he is in over his head.

It takes a good while to get a handle on how to deal with the public. Sometimes our leaders just plain fail.

Running off public safety is what he thinks is right? Ask him how many have quit in 2013 alone.

Maybe he should leave the thinking to those who are better equipped to do so.

I wondered about that. Sometimes when I come to the mall or other places in the city, I almost think that she county and state patrol have took over city police because I never see city cars

It is not good enough to say he tried or he ment well. Vote now for new council and question why the mistakes keep occurring. Politicians are only accountable when citizens demand it. It is all our jobs to complain, vote and see that our money is spent wisely. Harvey is only one of many that need to go. They have all developed an elitist attitude and are no longer serving the people. Let's start with 2 new council members and demand that they replace the city manager and city attorney. They have only served to cover and conceal Harvey and city councils mistakes. Every misjudgment they make cost us for the mistake and then the attempt to legally defend it at our cost. This has been the case over and over and over and they constantly settle. This applies to the city council and the police department legal suits.

The city manager is not an elected official and has been accountable to this city for over 26 or more years. He has done his best to stay out of the middle of what goes on with the politicians and has kept busy getting our city services taken care of. I think you should leave him out of the rants because he is not the cause, he is part of the solution, no matter what fools he has had to suffer with. I don't think he is protecting anyone, I think he is just getting his job done in the face of some really strange and often ridiculous situations.
If you have ever come up against Bill Osborne in a situation where the city's money is at stake, I think you would know that he doesn't spend a cent that he doesn't have to. If you get rid of him, you turn the city's treasury over to who? At least this man is as honest and well liked as anyone could be in that position. Not a good ole boy. I know him personally and have known and worked with him on many occasions and you will not find a finer human being anywhere.

He may be a great person to you. Here's your warning signs....when you try to exempt him because he is special. Is he exempted from ethics because he is not elected? He is exempt because he new every detail of every questionable dealing and sat quietly? Just because he is nice does not make it right. He is payed by the taxpayers and should be accountable for his actions, or in this case inaction. Aka rubber stamp. oh I know him too but in the business sense. He has never done anything that didn't benefit him first in the process. He is the same type of person that watches a crime committed and sits silently while the victim suffers. A wimp. Oh, that really happened with Mickey...and the taxpayers as the victim. He is part of the problem and I hit a nerve with you because you know it. Oh, and the council votes on expenditures. he is nothing more that an overpaid financial consultant. Considering all the bad deals the city has been involved in its not a great 26yr record. And he would say that he did not vote for a single bad business deal. Of course not, he only suggested and sat quietly. Lots of quiet when he should have spoken up. Had he done so he would have lost his job. The only reason he is not a GOB is because he thinks he is smarter than the elected officials he deals with. I'll agree he is. He lasted 26yrs while they make it a term or 2. The taxpayers have paid dearly for 26yrs of silence from him.

back to the topic. If Harvey is the joke, then Osborne is the joker behind him. You want it changed take out both and the city attorney. Clean sweep. Hey Miller and Smith you listening?

Cops walking out the door like never before. Two this month so far. Between problems with pay and benefits to the department becoming a rudderless ship the people see any glimmer of hope is now gone. There needs to be a complete cleaning of PD leadership and all elected officials need to be recalled.
