Number 1 and number 2 are pretty uninformed on yur part... number 3 hasw some ring of truth but is unrealistic. People can leave the country but where will they go... Canada? who already has universal health care and most of the stuff Republicans have a phobia to... or Mexico, where the "immigrant" will be the white guy from Los Estados Unidos... and won't even be allowed t buy property much less run a business. Just bring plenty of money. When it's gone they make you go home.

I believe "Aggie" explained it better than I ever could. Your lack of willingness to believe it will make it extra difficult for you. That is why I keep posting for you(well, everyone) to wait and see. The middle class liberals are going to feel as if they've had a pie thrown in their faces when all of this settles in. You think you did the right thing for yourself. Actually, by winning...you've lost.
BTW, how many times are you and the other liberals on this forum going to ask the conservatives to explain this to you????? You don't believe it, so sit back and relax and enjoy.....

You will not convince the helplessly ignorant. Facts mean nothing to them. I will tell you that the constitutional conservatives in this country are going to have to fight tooth and nail to defeat this socialist president. It can be done if people make their voice heard and get active. If not we are in diar straights. Compromise is not in bho's vocabulary, he will ram socialism down our throats until we choke.

Ok, as long as you feel the need to go here.

1. Facts mean nothing to them - Yet you call Obama socialist - when it is FACT that he is not socialist. You're wrong.
2. Fighting tooth and nail to defeat the president can be done - in FACT it already has been done - and that's why the Republicans got trounced in the last election. If the GOP has ANY hope of staying relevent, they need to actually work with the rest of the country. Again - you're wrong.
3. All you need to do is get people active - just been done - people have been active - and America rejected your narrow-minded pandering to the rich and corporate - you're wrong again.
4. It's spelled D-I-R-E, not DIAR - and you want to discuss vocabulary? Again - you're wrong.

Give it a rest.

There's a radio station in Illinois that's broadcasting directions for disenchanted Republicans on how to get to Canada... how to cross the boarder... what documents they need... and how to apply for political asylum. Then they can live in a more complete "socialist" democratic society.
Companies that move their operations to foreign countries are a lot of the problem. They are treasonous and are traitors as much or more than a person in a position of trust who sells secrets to the enemy. If a good company can't make money in the American economy, no matter how bad Republicans have corrupted it, the owners and management don't deserve the position of trust they've been given by their customers.

The President, and by inference the Democratic party is no more a "socialist" than Mitt Romney, and by inference the Republican party are members of the Ku Klux Klan or the John Birch Society. It's true, in a few isolated cases both scenarios are true. But the majority in both cases are just Americans voting their convictions.
Like someone else here has said... once again, just like 2008...Republicans lost the election... get over it !! Democrats lost in 2000 and 2004 and see all the bad things that happened. Even the most cynical and jaded Conservative wouldn't want the country to go back to the failed policies and paranoia of the Bush/Cheney Administration.
Don't get your panties in a bunch about the election. Unless Republicans don't learn from this election they should be back in the White House in 2016. If they didn't learn the lesson of inclusiveness and compromise however, this might be the beginning of a permanent Democratic Majority. That wouldn't be good for the country any more than a Permanent Republican Majority would be. That's why we have a two party system, to bring diversity to the American political discourse.
Of course, if Republicans didn't learn from the last two election then they could go the way of the Whig Party, who actually won the Presidency last in the 1840's.

You seem to not understand the purpose of a business. People do not risk their savings to start a business (and it is a huge risk considering how many businesses fail, leaving the business owner with a whole lot of debts to pay) so that they can supply jobs to Americans. People take the risks and bust their tails 24/7 to make that business succeed in order to provide for their families and hopefully become a success. If they are a success then they can turn around and grow their business and in doing so need to hire more employees to fill those jobs. That is the American dream and it works beautifully when our govt understands the benefits to ALL of capitalism and free markets. But when you have an administration that thinks that businesses should create jobs out of the goodness of their hearts and supply benefits a company cannot afford, it shows a basic misunderstanding of the real world and what has created what has been an amazing economy. I hate the idea of businesses leaving this country, you're right, it only hurts the country. BUT, I do not blame those who have worked hard to build something for refusing to just sit here and potentially watch everything they have built be destroyed by a govt that thinks it knows better how you should run your company.
Fine, you may consider it a falsehood to call Obama a socialist and I would agree it tends to stop any reasonable discussion in it's tracks. However, I really don't think you can deny many of his policies can be called nothing but socialist in their aims. The most obvious continues to be Obamacare, what else can you call it but socialized medicine. The govt mandates about fuel consumption and mileage that are laid on the car companies are another great example. The govt declares that by a certain date all automobiles must comply with certain standards. And who sets these standards, bureaucrats with no knowledge of how to build an automobile or how the engine runs. But they pick an arbitrary number out of the air that manufacturer's must meet and declare it mandated. This will increase the cost to the consumer, while making no difference in so called "man made global warming" - which is really just an excuse to control more of our lives. Oh wait, they have had to change the name to "man made climate change" since all their evidence of warming has been proved to be either wrong or false.

On the contrary Jimminy Cricket... I and a lot of other Democrats do indeed know what "Socialism" is... real socialists don't want to be associated with either Republicans or Democrats.
I suggest you actually look up a definition of "socialist" before you start shooting off your opinion.
And I repeat, being a Democrat doesn't make a person (or a President) a socialist any more than being a Republican makes one a member of the Ku Klux Klan. Maybe to some people Democrats seem to resemble socialists... just like to some people Republicans resemble racists and Ku Klux Klan members. In both case I'm certain the resemblence is superficial and the person, whether Democrat or Republican is truly only an American without the negative attributes placed on them by the other party.

I'm as Ok with allowing Obama to be called a Socialist as you would be OK with calling Romney a racist, or corporate raider. Some of Obama's poicies ma seem socialist but some Republican policies an actions seem racist and discriminatory... voter caging, restrictive voter ID laws addr4essing a voter fraud problem that's only been perpetrated by Republican Administrations and candidates. Threats of secession from areas controlledby Republicans... much more to numerous to list
What you call Obamacare I call Affordable Health Care. There's nothing socialistic about group insurance. It's been part of American business for 50 years or more. The only thing conservatives don't like about it is the government directing it happen. That and the fact it takes money out of the pockets of many of the largest campaign contributors. The politicians (both parties) will throw the taxpayer under the bus to preserve their fatcat buddies. The biggest strech o this but very littloe mentioned is the Bush era Medicare Part D... an unfunded andate that costs taxpayers over one half trillion dollars every year since 2003 (I think). It's paid by the taxpayers but nothing is said because it's a Republican program... everythig isn't equal when it coms to who's pogram is socialist and who's isnt... Mediare Part D is just as Socialist as Affordable Health Care... and benefits fatcat drug companies even more than Affordable Healh Cae benefits insurance companies.
More later... things to do today ther than this

Aggie can answer for herself, but you teed up your question so well that I'm going to break my rule about responding to unregistered posters (how many different names do you use?)...

First of all, your comments are a great example of a Straw Man argument, however:

People are free to invest their money as they see fit, not how the government sees fit, as long as the follow applicable laws. If they want to start a business and make a profit, that is their right to do so. It is your right as a business owner to pay the wages and provide benefits as you see fit. If someone doesn't want to work for what you provide, they can exercise their right to find another job. If you don't pay enough, you won't get employees.

BTW, do some research on the fiduciary responsibility of officers of public corporations. It'll probably tick you off.

Too many people think companies exist to provide employment, not provide a return on investment for the owners or shareholders. Wonder how they vote...
