There is an example for all of you that say law enforcement gets away with everything. See it does happen.

Oh for crying out loud! Cigarettes? LMAO!! Jeff, I reckon this is the best they can do to make themselves look accountable.

In most cases contraband to an inmate is a felony. Not saying that is what the charge is because I dont know. But the fact is there is an officer that is being charged with something which people want to see and then it isnt good enough. Perhaps firing aquad. Ridiculous.

a firing squad? No, too extreme. I enjoy reading your posts, Jeff and love to get you going.

Didn't they catch one of the Asheville cops or jailers giving someone a cell phone in jail? What become of that.

There have been times that officers have been involved in one thing or another. I vaguely remember something about a cell phone but I dont know what happened with it. Glad you enjoy reading my posts and it does get the blood flowing sometimes, hahaha

Yeah, at my age, I need all the help I can get!(the blood-flowing thing!)I ought to go ahead and retire and work puzzles, but I enjoy being out and about. I don't mean to pick on all cops, it is that choice few who make it hard to say anything positive about them. So they end up in the 'general' file, both good and bad.

I believe that Officer was hung and buried in potter's field near Enka. LOL! Now you can see why the Kangaroo Court systems are clogged, with frivolous cases like these.

Drew have you witnessed these beatings first hand or received one? I just bet what you are hearing are the accounts of someone who picked a fight with the police and lost, or detention officers as the case may be. You just need something to have a conspiracy theory about. Or it could even be other inmates that did it. Why is it when someone picks a fight with the police they are adored by people like you and when the police defend themselves it is police brutality. Ive got news for you I will not take a beating for or from you or anyone else. My goal is to get home at the end of the shift. Have a good night

This forum is a conspiracy. One totally dedicated to increasing my Jack Daniels consumption. And it is working, or maybe it is the Led Zeppelin playing on youtube in the background. For all the alledged misbehavior by the police I have never witnessed it, but I sure have seen them bend over backwards to avoid arresting many people. Asheville has a very tolerant and courteous department, by and large, and if they are only treated with reasonable respect they stay that way. You may well have seen things I have not, but I tend to stick with my personal observation to avoid the pitfalls of hearsay, gossip and personal bias from others.

jeff, I had no idea you were a cop. You deserve to go home at the end of the shift, in one piece.

drew, its the hash that makes you believe everything is a conspiracy theory.(wink). What, girl, is up with that?

There are good and bad people in every profession. Jeff, I just hope you are one of the "good guys" because you seem to be.

And I simply cannot believe that they called the SBI into this. What a HUGE waste of tax payer money. I demand a refund.(frown)

Drew so long as we understand each other. I dont know what your field is but I am sure you wouldnt want to be lumped into a general stereotype just because of someones bad experience. I ask as a favor that you be a little understanding that there are a whole lot more honest and hardworking officers that are out to do the right thing there are the ones that are on a power trip.
