Michael Ferrier and Amanda Vaughn, who died in the accident in Jackson County on Wednesday, were enroute to Home Depot on an assignment. I know nothing about Amanda, but Mike leaves behind his wife (Michelle), three small boys (Zachary, Tyler and Jacob), his sister (Tricia), and his mother (Patricia). Thank you to all of you that did whatever you could to help.

Amanda Diane Vaughan, 23, of Vienna died Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2008, as a result of an automobile accident.

She was born in Marietta, a daughter of S. James Davis and the late Pamela Diane (Amos) Davis. She worked for Home Depot and was a 2002 graduate of Parkersburg High School. During her senior year, she was in the Co-op program. After graduation, she worked at J.C. Penney’s while she attended cosmetology school. She was actively involved in East Vienna United Methodist Church. She loved her family and was a devoted wife and a loving daughter with a golden smile and heart of gold. She was a friend to all.

She is survived by her husband, Adam N. Vaughan; parents, James and Diana Davis of Vienna; brother, James Scott Davis and his wife, Stefanie, of Minneapolis, Minn.; father-in-law, Joseph Vaughan and his wife, Dixie, of Davisville; mother-in-law, Kimberly Ferguson of Vienna; paternal grandmother, Nellie Davis of Mineral Wells; maternal grandmothers, Freeda Amos of Vienna and Phyllis Reed of Parkersburg; grandparents-in-law, Vick and Betty Wolfe of Parkersburg and Mike and Wanda Vaughan of Davisville; brother-in-law, C.J. Vaughan of Davisville; stepbrother-in-law, Andrew Stone and stepsister-in-law, Rachel Stone; her constant companion, Sassie; her best friends, Misty Harris of Vienna and Stormy Gibson of Walker, W.Va.; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Simon Davis; maternal grandfather, Russell Amos; maternal stepgrandfather, Allie Amos; and uncle, Mark Atkinson.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at First Lutheran Church with the Revs. James Kinsler and Marilyn Schroeder officiating. Entombment will be at Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, and from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at the church.Parkersburg News and Sentinel
