They should never let this guy be a cop again
how could he be trusted? You are held to a higher
accountability and responsibility when you choose
this type of career! What kind of example has he set?
I sure do not want my 17 yr old getting stopped by
this guy.It is sad when you have to warn your child
about a police officer!!!!!! There are plenty of legal
aged women he could have preyed on he just wanted the
forbidden.

darcie, 17 years old IS legal. It's legal for a police officer to have a 17 year old girl-friend. It's legal for a police officer to have sex with a 17 year old girl. It's just NOT legal for anyone to take sexually revealing pictures of a 17 year old.
While the officer in question was a good police officer who went above and beyond the call of duty before and after Hurricane Rita.
His soon to be x-wife found the pictures (which again ARE illegal) and threatened to blackmail him. My guess is because she was bitter and spiteful. When she threatened to blackmail him, he turned the pictures over to his supervisor, and then faced the charges like a man. You'll be relieved to know that his job was taken from him.
"Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned", eh?
I knew the female and the officer, and the female was definitely not innocent by any means, she was quite the wild child *drool*. You know the type that men search for when their monotonous marriages falls apart.*wink*
So to recap. There was no 'preying' as you stated. She was of legal consent age. And the officer was responsible and qualified who simply made a mistake.
As I'm sure you have done a time or two in your life, eh?

Actually, I Can show you on the web Right now, there are nude shots of ALL ages of men, women, girls, and Boys.

It is legal to have Nude photos if they are not sexual in nature.

IE a girl pulling her underwear aside is not legal, but a girl completely naked getting out of the shower, is legal.

but this is my understanding of the law, some families are more open about nudity, not by choice, but of necessity, if a family has several kids and only one bathroom, they are bound to be naked around each other sometime, and kids will be kids when it comes to taking photos. there will be a shot of someone naked on some roll of film if it is left in the camera.

so unless there was actual sexual contact during the photo, there should be no problem, and remember, to be legal there needs to be less clothing, not more. if it is normal for you to be naked, then it is normal to have a photo of you naked.

This issue has run it's course. The officer (a good officer) has lost his job and will (as I understand) be required to register as an offender for the remainder of his life.

This came about as a result of attempted blackmail on the officer's estranged wife, he did the manly thing, approached his supervisor and took responsibility for his acts.

He has gained my respect through this ordeal, although he will likely never again be allowed in law enforcement. That is a shame.

I believe the pictures should be made public since a public official was involved and the girl was of legal age.

I knew him and YES he was a great cop. I hope his wife gets all the Karma she deserves.

What a minute! Whats all the hate on his wife for?
Everyone acts like she took the pictures. As an
officer of the law if he was banging this girl
thats one thing. He should have known his laws
better about taking the pictures. I don't think
it's right he was listed as a sex offender though.
Laws weird if you ask me! He can have sex with her
but not take pictures? Maybe he should have lost
his job but not have his life tarnished forever
that's not right! As for his wife she must have been hurt and wanted to hurt him. Isn't that the normal reaction to a man cheating on his old lady?
As far as the guy who said just another Vidor story! Like your town doesn't have it's share
of issues.......

as far as his wife being hurt and wanting to hurt him...yes...she had every reason to be angry...leave him...report him for the pictures...or whatever...BUT...trying to blackmail him? that is not justified regardless...

FYI:

The officer and his wife were separated, in the process of getting a divorce.

She found the pics in the house and attempted to blackmail him.

He went and told his superior officer about the pictures.

He lost his job and is marked as a sexual predator for the rest of his life and will never be able to work as a police officer again. He was a good officer, he was there day after day, with little sleep, helping people after Hurricane Rita.

His wife, by her spite has ruined his life. His mistake wasn't having sex with the girl, she was of legal age. His mistake was taking pictures, as she was 17. Had she been 18, there would have been no case and he would still be a police officer in Vidor.

Well that was not right of his wife at all. He had
every right to see someone else. Yes , I agree his
mistake was taking the pictures! Not sleeping with
her. He shouldn't be labeled as a sex predator at all. As far as his job I agree he should of lost his job. He was on officer of the law,and the pictures where illegal. I bet he was a good officer that made an honest mistake. I think personally myself the law is messed up. If he can
sex with a girl of that age he should be able to
take take pictures to. I agree had she been 18
there would of been bo case. I guess my advice to
all the men out there if she's not 18 don't take
pictures.

Excellent advice.

I would go a step further and say if she is under 18, just say no.

But that's just a personal philosophy.

I wander what the City Manager, Ricky Jorgenson, who currently has a FELONY DWI PENDING, thought about the conflict of interest he had in running criminal histories on the police chief he selected? And, does the DRUNKEN Ricky Jorgenson enjoy viewing pictures of underage women? I'm sure he had access to those photos, as he has access to everything else.

And now we will pay 6.5 million on a new city hall for the DRUNK to be officed and report to the City Counsel. Damn shame.

In today's Vidor Vidorian, Discussion between the architect and city officials regarding the new windows for the new city hall brought out concerns for vandalism, above concerns for hurricane damage. Who's ass is further up his head, one who thinks vandalism is more of a concern than hurricane damage to a 6.5 million dollar building, or one who make hiring decisions about the new chief of police when he (City Manager Ricky Jorgenson, has a PENDING FELONY DWI PENDING IN ORANGE COUNTY?

It appears that there is a lot of head of the ass decisionmaking and ethics being practiced in Vidor city management.

Black mail is neither ethical or legal. Neither is the city manager having a pending DWI while making hiring decisions about the chief of police. Pathetic.

So in other words, you really don't like Ricky Jorgenson.

Did he sleep with your daughter or something?

Geesh, that was probably me (unless your daughter is under legal age, of course)
