What a joke the superintendant has made ofthese two principles, these people should be FIRED. They are to be set to a higher set of standards for our kids. If two kids were found having sex IN A CLASSROOM they would have been expelled or worse, so all we do as adults is just transfer them and not even slap them on the wrist

October 29-- Two school principals in the Toombs County School System have been reassigned due to what sources say are allegations of inappropriate relationships with subordinates or spouses of subordinates.

At a called meeting Tuesday night, the school board voted four to one to reassign Principal Tim Young from Lyons Primary School to the computer lab at Toombs Central Elementary School. Board member Needum Rogers voted against the reassignment.

Two weeks earlier, the board reassigned Dr. Renee Stanley from the head job at Toombs Central Elementary to a pre-kindergarten teaching position at Lyons Primary.

As a matter of policy, school officials do not comment on internal personnel matters. School Superintendent Dr. Kendall Brantley says the reassignments were made pending further investigation of the allegations and to allow due process to take place.

One of the citizens at Tuesday night's school board meeting objected to Young being reassigned to Toombs Central. Dale Barwick says domestic disputes can lead to violence which could be a danger to his grandchild at the school.

"It is a concern. Kendall Brantley said we're doing the best we can do to protect our kids. No, you're not," Barwick says. "Not when you put this man or this woman back in harm's way. I could care less what they do, but we should not put these teachers back on school property because it could cause a situation that would hurt our kids," he believes.

An unintended consequence of the Young case is fallout from the appointment of Dr. Kim Corley to succeed Young at Lyons Primary. Because she is now a school principal, her husband, Darel Corley, has withdrawn from Tuesday's school board election in District Three. Under a new state law, school board members are prohibited from having members of their immediate families serve as principals in the same school system.

The new principal at Toombs Central is Tonawanda Irie, the former assistant principal at the school.

These people should not teach inmates much less children

With society as it is today, why would this school system chose to relocate these people instead of firing them? Teachers are to be role models for students and conduct themselves in a manner that our children would look to for guidance. Acting like dogs in heat is not becoming of a mature adult

At Lyons Primary the principal should not be the only one that is in trouble the other 4 teachers that was involved needs to go, but all everyone is talking about is him well there is 4 more female teachers that need to be in trouble too.

The school board needs cleaning out. NEPOTISM IS NOW UNLAWFUL by state law !!!!!!!!!!

Sex scandals have occurred for years with no one being fired just relocated. The precedent was set years ago. If Tim gets fired, he's got a great suit for the TCSB.

Go look at the board office and you'll find quite a few employees there b/c of scandals. All another reason to clean house.

If we focus on football and the millionaire ball players we've produced, it will all be better.

I think that it is wrong that the principle of Lyons Primary is fired and the LADY or LADIES he was messing around with is still there. Something needs to be done about this it is wrong! Also what about the male principle of Lyons Upper Elementary a while back was cheating with another female he isnít fired yes he got moved to another position but it is still WRONG! ALL parties should be held accountable at the same level.

I heard the board met and Mr Young was fired, but Mrs. Graham was able to retain her position. I hope he files a suit against the school. She had the same ethics code to follow as he did. This is wrong!! And what about the other principal involved-Mrs. Stanley?? You would have to assume both were discussed at the board meeting. Why is it we only hear about his wrong doing and she gets to hide behind the spotlight? Time to air her dirty laundry also.

I totally agree with the comment just left. I hope he does file a suit. It is wrong that he is being done like this when there is other principles that have done the same in the past 2 years and they are still there. Graham Needs to go as well as the others that have done this. We have a pathetic school system!

Everything that these people did had nothing to do with their work performance. As long as Mr. Young did not use his power to coerce this woman or women, then he did nothing wrong besides breaking his vows to his wife. He is not the only one that did wrong because the affair went on for 10 months. I don't see how she can claim she was a victim because it seems if her husband would not have found out about it, she would have still been dealing with him. I hope that he does file a suit because long as he was doing his job and there was no quid pro qou harassment going on, they have no grounds to fire him especially when they have relocated everyone else in the system. They board needs to review their policies and update them to include this type of nature and make everyone that becomes a employee sign them so they are aware of the consequences if that behavior takes place at the workplace or anywhere else with faculty members whether they are married or single.

Does anyone know whether the board has made a decision regarding Renee Stanley, principal of TCES? I would love to know if she will also be losing her job. How can you set standards for a school system and only require certain individuals abide by the rules? She should be held to the same standards as Mr. Young. Can't help believing it's a bit political. Afterall, she is a Stanley. The allegations aimed at Mr Young have been all over the newspapers, however, I have yet to hear her name mentioned. I look for Mr Young to sue the Toombs County Board for discrimination. Ethical behavior should be expected and demanded from ALL of the educators in ALL schools, even if your last name is STANLEY!!!

It's time for Mr. Brantley to retire before he loses ALL control. Maybe the new board will change things. Thank Goodness Mr. Corley was unable to run for the board, b/c he runs nearly everything at the City of Lyons. He would have another reason to not attend fires during any school related events, but he can be in Vidalia in a city truck a significant time he's on the clock.

Yes, I agree! He outstayed his welcome that is for sure. But he couldn't leave without taking care of all his family members and pals! Hence the Renee' Banks Stanley's, the Hills, and the Alexanders and anyone related to them. There has been favortisum throughout his appointment from the teaching of his children to his children becoming teachers within the system he ran. Now he leaves us with a bunch of sex crazed teachers. Teachers having sex with teachers and spouses, not to mention students. Don't forget the high school teacher that had a students baby. Glad mine are OUT OF THERE!!!
