No New Leads Reported In Search For Oregon Professor
Searchers combing the Cascade foothills for a University of Oregon math professor missing more than a week are reporting no progress.
Plans call for scaling back from an active to a "passive" level on Tuesday.
Light snow fell over the weekend. Lane County sheriff's search and rescue coordinator John Miller says survival chances for 63-year-old Daming Xu are "just about nil."

This never made the news, but there is concern that Mr. Xu met with foul play. Supposedly one of his shoes was found by a searcher, who mentioned this news in the local market here. The searcher believed that the professor may have wandered into an area where there was illegal drug activity.
I'm afraid they won't find him at all and it's just so sad for his family, his students and the university.
