Galante says diocese will get stronger

In a candid interview Wednesday, Bishop Joseph A. Galante reflected on the state of the Camden Diocese five years after his arrival.

One man who has only been here in our diocese for 5 years will destroy what God has made. How can our communities be HOLY and vibrant without its Roman Catholic Churches.

Notre Dame and Georgetown scandals should be proof enough to the Vatican in Rome that there are many things in this diocese and other diocese across America which goes against Christ and the teaching of the true Catholic Faith. By the way, what is Bishop Galante's and Mr. Walton's views about these incidents by these lukewarm liberal Catholics? They need to comment to local public media.

The Camden diocese has made poor real estate decisions which has been very costly. It is our small parishes which support the rich and lavish lifestyles of the hierarchy of the Camden Diocese. The whole planning process has been corrupted with sin and "error". The diocese's connection with Mr. Follieri should have been enough for the Vatican to investigate these closings.

Why didn't the diocese advise people that these "Speak Up sessions were about church closings?
When are people going to be advised of th eir rights to file an appeal to Rome...after the Bishop makes his finals decree and it is too late? Why are so many dioceses going bankrupt and are selling real estate, relics, cemeteries, statues, etc. to pay off the sexual abuse law suits. Is there any Sexual abuse lawsuits in the Camden Diocese.

Bigger churches are not eco friendly. the high costs of heating and air etc. The cost of hiring police for traffic detail. The traffic congestion and pollution when it takes hours to pull into or out of church. It will take a couple of hears to have Mass said for loved ones.

It is a disgrace how our priests and holy nun are being treated after dedicating their life to God and our diocese. Our bishops and cardinals allowed rapists and molestors to remain in the dioceses.

How quick our bishops and cardinals are to threaten our good priests with Texas, suspension, excommunications, etc.

The real schism has been Vatican II which has opened the doors for sin. It has led to the destruction of the family and Christian values. It allowed Madeline O'Hare to remove God from our schools and replace them with drugs, sex and violence.

It allowed for the 3 Hail Mary's and the Prayers to St. Michael the archangel to removed from our Churches which gives us strength...

It allowed evil ones to rape, molest. It allowed for the lies, sins and cover-ups. It is the real reason why Notre Dame and Georgetown denied Christ and the teacchings of the Roman Catholic church.

Like many dioceses, the Camden diocese is lukewarm liberals who don't even have the courage to practice what they preach which is put their trust in Jesus.

Why doesn't Bishop Galante put his trust in Jesus and the rest will come.

St. James H igh School in Carney's Pt, St.Mary's in Salem City, St. John's School in Paulsboro are all gone and so is the bishop who closed them down.

Bishop Galante has made it quite clear that the Pastors will be blamed for these closures after he makes the final decrees. It is the truth. When are our Priests going to have faith and courage in God and our Blessed Mother to defend the Catholic faith as it was done in the past by those Catholics who originally built our Catholic Churches in the Camden Diocese?

You Priests can seek strength by reading the Marian Movement of Priests book, praying your offices. Also wearing your black and white and living simply is being Christ-like. When Holy nuns wear their habits and pray, they are being like our Mother, Mary.

Priests have courage to get together and put an end to these sins of removing God from His tabernacles and towns.

A priest's job is to lead all souls to Heaven to be with God. These closings will only lead souls to Hell. Angels and Demons on earth do exist.

I point out camden diocese's "errors"

I do wish Bishop Galante a happy 5 years in this diocese. Even t hough closing down our parishes in Camden Diocese are wrong, he has done some good things. His article in the Catholic Star Herald about Notre Dame and Georgetown was impressive. Why couldn't he make a statement to Channel 3 or the Courier post in regards to t his subject.

Also, he did do a great job of getting people together and helping the poor people in New Orleans.

BISHOP GALANTE HAS POTENTIAL TO BE A GREAT BISHOP.

Many of us know that these plans to close down our parishes are from the Catholic conference of bishops in Dc.

I believe Bishop Galante when he said individuals from the Vatican introduced him to Mr. Follieri.

He should really talk to our Holy Father, Pope Benedict XVI instead of enemies of the Catholic church.

Even the tent revival in Vineland looked like fun as an extracurricular activity to the traditional Catholic Mass.

I feel sorry that Bishop Galante feels as though many people are attacking him. This is not the case. We are against his actions. Aren't we all on the same team?

When is it all going to end. I'm tired of protesting. Why can't the diocese see the truth.

However, when seeing Notre Dame and Georgtown denying God and their Faith, I can't remain silent.

One reason the churches don't have enough money (besides extravagent lifestyles with church money and bad investment) is the decline in priest population.

Why not allow priests to marry and acquire an entire new base from which to draw in priests?

Mary, As far as praying to get everything accomplished is concerned, praying does not cure all things. One must first do all they can to resolve a situation, then when they can do no more to correct the situation, AFTER they have exhausted all their resources, THEN they turn it over to the Lord in prayer.

They are doing all they can to resolve a situation that was years in the making and will take years to resolve.

I don't know why you keep on claiming that they are denying God and their Faith.

You state that you are tired of protesting. Then why not stop and step back a minute and try to see things as they really are instead of insisting that things should be done the way you think they should be done. Are you so much wiser than everyone else. If not, take a break and pray for an open mind so you can see the truth.

No the "Gates of Hell" will not prevail against the Catholic Church- The Bark of Peter will survive, but it will be reduced to an insignificant church exiled to the backwaters and attended to by old women and elderly monks! And this will be the work from the priests and Bishops who are so unlike Christ as to be unrecognizable as Christians! I call for revolution! Like St Francis, who was a layman, we must fight to take back our church from those on the inside who seek to destroy and lead souls to perdition! Sound rough? Search your soul and deep down inside prove that I am wrong. Our battle is much greater than against mere humans, but of powers who influence and control them. Bishop Galante and 2/3 of his priests are already defeated! Look into their eyes, there is no life, no passion, no desire to seek martyrdom for the Master! We must take back the Mass, the sacraments, the devotions, the prayers, the piety, the charity, the love for our fellow men that is so missing in our "shepherds" In short we must be counterculture and warriors for the Most High. Be of good cheer, we know who wins in the end. O glorious Revolution!

I'm with joseph. We have to be vigilant and prayer is the answer along with action.

Straigth talk...I guess it ok for a catholic priest to cuss out women and use the F word. Was it ok for innocent children to be raped and molested??? Evil has infiltrated the Camden Diocese and the shortage of priests is just workbook brainwashing from the diocese.

That's how they are destroying God and the Catholic faith.

Father friel failed to help Father Byrnes when he needed help. Much conflict could have been avoided. God knows the truth.

If there is meeting to close down our parishes or discuss money most of the priests from our diocese are present. However, when Camden diocesen priests die, not too many of our priests attend the funeral Masses. To bury the dead is part of being a Roman Catholic. How sad that our priests are lukewarm and selfish.

In the Camden Diocese there are people driving around with bumper stickers that say "keep your Rosaries off my ovaries." There are other Christians who are pro-life. and even there are Jewish people who are pro-life....

That is really anti-Catholic.
