This just pisses me off to no end. Why did they tranquilize it and move it? So it could fight in another cat's territory and die of it's wounds or starve to death? Clearly there is an over population problem or it wouldn't have been there in the first place.
I know the idea of moving it just makes people feel better, damn the cat to suffering the people feel better, screw reality the people feel better.

Best way to tell if a mountain lion is in your area, missing pet posters.

Like that will change anytime soon? If over population is such a problem why do we keep passing more laws to "protect" people? Can't have it both ways.

Not a cougar Skip! You seem more like a purrring kitty in the bedroom type.

There is, of course, a difference between culling the herd or failing to protect humans and having had the common sense to address fertility rates via family planning and birth control, or simple awareness that the biosphere is finite.

But you're correct in that increasing numbers of humans will continue to push nature aside while using up fish, top soil, fossil fuels, forests, water and air, and cramming wildlife into smaller and smaller non human occupied areas.

I suppose the chinese have some sort of idea on birth control, maybe everyone just has two kids and no more, but how do you police that without infringing human rights.
There used to be wars and plague and so on but these are fading now as such, with better health care and so on and longer life..

Maybe we need more wars?
Maybe we should just annihilate the "bad people", you know, the extremists in the middle east. We can than sell the property, inhabit it, and then build strip malls and Super WalMarts.... We would have to keep annihilating the "bad people" as they arise however.
