On the trail of spirits in Bayside

The old Wood Mansion may very well have ghosts. The past history of this old house includes the eccentric 'Old Lady Briscoe' whose husband was famous for hunting, and she for spending money, until it ran out. Previous owners were involved in water transportation i.e. sailing the globe for commerce. Atop the home is a widows walk where wives would walk around searching the horizon for their loved ones ship coming in from afar.
This ghost could very well be one of these widows, or for that matter 'Old Lady Briscoe' who died in this home with her thousands of cats. When the home was bought by Campbell, there was tons of cat crap all over the upper floors, which had not been seen by human eyes for decades.

I grew up in Woodsboro and had several friends who lived in Bayside. I would often visit them, and as young boys we were naturally drawn to the old mansion. In all the years that I played at and near the old house, I never saw a ghost or even had any inclination to believe that there was a ghost there. It's just an old house, worn down from years of abusive weather.
The key lies in the Advocate story ... about it being a hippie commune. That it was ... and some of those hippies were known to delve into a little "pot" and harsher drugs now and then. That's the real ghost.

Since my great-great-grandparents had 12 children, perhaps a couple of the younger ones stuck around to get some attention.
