VOTE NO!!!
As a 5 year Victor resident, I would still have to pay an annual and/or a monthly fee to use the facilities, just like a gym membership, and so will you! However, w/ this grand "SCAM" of an idea, we will all pay even more in our taxes for it! What a crock...our taxes won't increase!!!! LOL! What an insult! It's a shame, our officials must take Victor residents to be uneducated!
Let's tell our not so well educated officials to "Put this money (our tax money) elsewhere", where it's really needed!!!!!
VOTE NO!!!

Haha 5 years??? we should listen to you, you have been around for a long longggg time and must know everything about the victor area because of all the time you have spent there as a resident.

BTW...I'm from Victor, not Farmington. Not sure why this site has me down as residing in Farmington, when I posted the above comment.

Here we go with the double talk. This article says : Board members say it's not going to cost tax payers any money, but in an article with YNN Parks director Brian Emelson he says that the board is confident that they can do it. I take his works to mean that they are not really sure.

The Ontario Cty. sales tax increases to 7.5% 09/01. The $7 million community center is already being paid for with tax money to subsidize those with families when they already are subsidized through school taxes for all the same facilities available there. Perinton had enough money saved to build their facility from a reserve fund. Then they added pools for another $5 or $6 million. They have almost 50,000 residents, compared to 10,000 in Victor. Thay have less than 1/4 of their residents use the facility. As with Victor, the same people use several different programs, so are added several times to come up with "users". People are still losing their jobs. What a poor time to propose this facility. And then there will be a Director and staff for parks, and a separate director and staff for recreation...and on, and on and more and more taxes to support it. When will a committee be formed to come up with a proposition to have people vote on a tax decrease? People go berserk over providing health care, but a community center? Shame on Victor if this is approved.

Victor always complains about something,Before the Thruway was built they worried they would lose business thru the town and protested then. Then didnt want Eastview Mall built because that would hurt business also.My Mother is from Farmington,And her Uncle owned the land where the race track is now. They didnt want that either.

If the residents want it then build it. I'm all for it because I don't live there and if they decide they want to be sucked with more taxes then more power to them!

The center would house many of their activities (most which already have a fee) that the current facilities do not have adequate room for or that they have to rent or contract out space in other locations.

YAY! Thanks to all of the well educated Victor residents, out there, that voted this asinine idea down!! Obviously, our brats already have the Victor school system that provides them w/ everything and more and much like yourself, I PAY FOR THAT DEARLY IN TAXES ALREADY and don't have any brats myself, nor do I want them! Actually, I would love to propose a tax break to those, like myself, that pay for everyone else's brats. Basically, if you don't have a brat (and never did) you deserve a tax break, since you have not taxed the system. Would love to hear from those that are all for this. Anyone else, keep your comments to yourself and just consider yourself and your brats lucky that I make a lot of money and your brat collects on my fortune! Thanks! ;)
