I think it would behoove Corey Maxner to curtail his abuse of alcohol. If he can't control it, he'd better get some help.

This can fall back on the city council. All the crap that goes on and why don't the mayor and his band of misfits clean the department up.
I still say the State Boys need to come in and clean house.
The Mayor has become to comfortable, Morley needs to go, and a few others.

He should be treated like anyone else who gets arrested. If he did not show up for Court today, Would Canton Village Police consider him a "File 5" like Ogdensburg Police do to people? Ogdensburg Police are a "JOKE".

And people wonder that there is little respect for at least some of its law enforcement. A drunk disorderly person has no right to have peace officer status or have access to a gun. The persons judgement is in question. He has made himself a sad dangerous joke. It is only a question of time before someone lays him out temporary or for good. This makes the whole system smell bad

This entire thing is ridiculous. Yes he got drunk and yes he should not have banged on her door. But he's human. No matter what our jobs are, we all do stupid things at times, especially when drunk. But for this woman to say that she is "fearful" and afraid to walk around her neighborhood? What does she think he is going to do? It was a mistake, and I'm sure he hopes he never runs into her again out of embarrassment. I do not think this has anything to do with his ability to be a police officer. Life goes on.

Every pistol license holder in St. Law. County should be outraged. The newly established SAFE ACT that Coumo signed into law spells out in great detail that anyone with a court order of protection must surrender their pistol license, and further, the fact that it was a drunken perpetrator doing what would appear to be a violent harassment type of crime, you or I would be immediately be stripped of our pistol permit and forced to surrender our hand guns. That's the law as it pertains to the public. If you are pro gun, you should get behind this and write your congressmen, legislator, or the Governor himself.

i agree the people need to stand up and protest to have this officer removed! furthermore i feel or govt is way too much in everyones business and very corrupt. we the people need to make a stand against our corrupt government and take back our great nation. if that was my sister of wife i would track that idiot down and seriously inflict pain on him.

His buddy was "busying himself" with public urination as cited in the local newspapers. give up your buddy for violating the law Maxner. You call yourself a cop? You're a fraud.

Let's see if Jerry Richards, County Judge, will step in bc this guy carries weapons on the job. If it was any one else who had an order of protection against them, Jerry would jump all over the person, especially if the person has a pistol permit.

No presumption of innocence for law enforcement;p too much is covered up. Domestics by law enforcement should be vetted by a special unit of the NYS Attorney Generals Office.

Admin leave without pay for this guy; enough is enough; too too many double standards in Ogdensburg and SLC for the circle of law enforcement and pals.

Where is the state on this one; let's get some oversight here. It is clear that the SLC DA will not prosecute this guy.

Of course the judge and the D A will not do anything, it is a simple harrasment charge. It is not a felony, it is a misdemeaner, Thereore it has no business being in county court, it has to be handled in the local court, where the crime was commited. He did not commit murder, he was charged with harassment. Sorry but that is the way the cookie crumbles. I do agree however with the fact that he should lose his right to possess any firearm, including his pistol, until this is settled and the order of protection is lifted.

He is human but he is a police officer therefore he is held to a higher standard.
He has shattered the public trust. He must be removed from the police force or the public will hold the Chief suspect as well.

What is Maxner doing hanging out drinking at a frat house at his age? Is he using it as a local pub? Maxner's judgement is questionable. Therefore the only thing the Chief can do to is remove Maxner from the force or suffer loss of credibility and morale. Maxner's mistake is not a human error it is a lack of moral character issue and a blunder worse than a crime. Do the right thing and remove him swiftly. The benefits are three-fold: it will set an example for the rest of the young men on the force, serve justice to the victim and restore public.

The words "any one" not "anyone except", must surrender their pistol license...IN OTHER WORDS....THE CHIEF OF POLICE IS BREAKING THE LAW BY NOT TAKING AWAY HIS GUNS AND LICENSE! If that was a regular citizen they would sweep in an collect all your guns. YESSIR WE ARE OUTRAGED!
