Ladies - just so you know - guys have been paying for sex forever... What is the difference between spending $100 or so on dinner in the hopes of getting something and just giving the money to her for what you want? Come on - no woman ever married for the money...

Legalize it. Control it. Tax it.

That's the American way!

It is legal in NV yet, as the CIS program showed yesterday, even when it is legal there is a huge incentive to exploit people via the trade. Sex is a powerful force, misuse it and you can be controlled via it. Organized crime knows how to use sex as a weapon to exploit you. Even the USSR used prositutes as a weapon.
Being legal will not stop the exploitation. What is needed in the US is for more of you to learn self discipline.
Many of the arguments here are demeaning to prostutes because they make no sense. Let's talk about exploitation. A popular teen-age boy bonks a girl who falls head over heels in love. He jokes about it with his buddies, then dumps her while looking for a new target. Exploitation? The boss does it with his secretary, politicians do it(much in the news lately). The there is the ther side, the women that do it to hold over a guy's head or to extort him. Exploitation is everywhere- at least prostitues get cash. The sad thing is not the sex. The sad thing is how many use it to finance drug addictions. You are not going to stop the sex. But what are these women going to do- work as waitresses? You want more men to keep in their pants- good luck! I think the biggest problem here is goody-goodies with unrealistic expectations of human behavior. It is illegal but men and women do it. It ruins families and jobs, but it keeps going. Even in Islamic countries where people can be put to death, it happens. So how about some realistic solutions? Make it legal. Tax it. License it and medical test the women. But don't for a moment believe it can be stopped. Sex happens under any circumstances. Many women in dire circumstances feel they have no other way to make a buck. Others can make a lot more selling sex than working at McDonalds. So let's be real. Besides, unless we hire a lot more cops, I want them trying to catch murderers, gangbangers, robbers, muggers, white-collar crooks, and a whole host of other crooks more than I want them chasing down prostitutes making a few bucks from men more than willing to give it to them.
