Now when they convict and sentence him, what is the defense lawyer going to say or prove, Oh that he had a traumatic childhood that lead him to act this way. I'll tell you what the Death Penalty for all Child molesters. That's the way it should be and then we won't have to worry about them getting out and repeating this horrific act.

I agree with the death penatly especially for those who rape and murder, I dont think the punishment for rapists is harsh enough.

I am assuming maybe you dont have children but if you do or if you did wouldnt you feel that way. Why lock them up so they can get out and do it again. They are sick individuals.

hey jessica from rochester, do you have a daughter. well when someone has sex with your seven year old and continues to do sick, messed up things to her maybe then your won't think certain opinions are childish about the persons punishment. that little girl has to live with that for the rest of her life, thinking about it everyday. more than likely it will affect her every relationship that she will ever have. people take rape to lightly, today. So before you write stupid uneducated comments on things that you apparently have no clue about, think about what punishment that you would want the person who was putting his hand down your daughters pants, should have.

Jessicas attitude is way off on this situation...I myself a rape victem as a Child no matter what punishment that guys gets it dont take the pain and fear out of that child that she will have to live with for the rest of her life...In some situations it is better to forgive and forget and let the lord take it in his hands.

has anyone noticed we havent heard from Jessica in awhile. She seemed to be so vocal and act as if she was a mature adult knowing much more then we all did. I think her tune has changed just a bit. I myself have never personally been a victim of rape, but I know people who have been through and it I firmly stand by Harsh punishment. I believe an eye for an eye. Let this guy go to jail and have done to him what he did to this little girl.

I am so glad that they actually passed a law that gives the perverts a death penalty- of course after the "second offense"-

There should never be a "second" offense- how about the first offense--> law makers?

I am so glad that I am in law school right now!

This has ruined every part of my life. my trust issues, and im in a relationship were sex is not an option for us because i cant handle it. so before go and say something REDICULOUS! like that. why dont you think. rape is almost worth then death. because with rape.. you have to live with it for the REST OF YOU LIFE!

Jessica try telling that to Jessica Lunsford Father and Family. Had they kept her killer and the man that raped her locked up, or better yet put him to death that little fla gril would still be alive. I am sick to death of our little ones being raped and killed, and the killer getting off because some do good lawyer finds a loop hole and gets him off with a slap on the wrist.

I think if a man or woman rapes or molests a child, they should never see the light of another day. I agree with the people who say that there is no rehabilitating these so called people. They are no more than sick monsters who will strike again and again if given the chance.

1 more childs life ruined.
The obvious will happen, if he goes to jail,
they'll let him out. Only, to ruin another childs
life. That's just what our society has come to.
He should get the death penalty.
But, who am I to say anything, I'm just another
victim of child/sexual abuse. I'm now 42 years old
And I have to live with what happened to me every-day.

Are you kidding me Jessica. You either don't have children or have not been a victim of assualt or attempted assualt. 5 guys that I went to school with pinned me down and tried to get my clothes off when I was 13. Thank God nothing more happened than that but let me tell you something. If someone came anywhere near a child in my family not just my own son I would kill the SOB without question. I have a registered sex offender who lives 6 doors down which makes him about 15 from the elementary school. Is this a good idea? Hell no. The hair on the back of my neck stands up every time I drive by to drop my child off at school. I think anyone who hurts a child should be hung in the square with the whole community watching.

Jessica, you are a complete idiot! Sounds to me like you might be related to the rapist in some way - to defend him! I hope this happens to you sweetheart...and then you get back on this site and tell us how you want your rapist handled! Slap on the wrist perhaps? You have a lot of growing up to do!

Interesting how many people are so adamantly for the death penalty. Killing is wrong. Period. Rape is horrific, as is murder. Not wanting someone murdered (the death penalty is nothing more than state-sponsored murder) is not the same as defending him. Rapists need to be put away if they cannot be rehabilitated, but killing someone, for any reason, brings us all down to the level of animals. It's strange that people attach labels like "liberal" to the idea of upholding the sanctity of life for its own sake. I deal with rape victims on a regular basis, unfortunately, so I know how devastating it is and how long-lasting are its effects. But I also know that murder never solves a problem; such an attitude just perpetuates violent and dark thinking throughout our society.

What ever happened for an eye for any eye. I think at first he should have it done to him then he should be put to death. That is the most horrible thing for anyone to go through.
