which massa do you believe? the one last night that said he was note voting for the bill, or the one that said a while back, that he would vote for the health care bill, because the people don't know what they want or need. the massa at last nights meeting was the massa trying to save his arse to get re-elected. i say vote the clown out.

Sigh. Faux (Fox) news manages to convince yet another group of sheeple that they should be scared. What Faux and no one else on the "death panel" side of the "argument" seem to offer are any solutions that DO work - because our current situation does NOT work. Health care costs are too high - so high that it's forcing small, medium and large businesses everywhere to reconsider offering community based care. Once that's gone you're back to individual rating which makes it difficult for those with preexisting conditions to get coverage, and if you have no job maintaining coverage is more than most families can bear. There are better models out there that result in better care for less cost. But Faux won't tell you about those. They'll just spread fear uncertainty and doubt by lying to the American public about what is in the bill. If you read the bill you will find that all "death panels" are about is being sure that people - while they are compis mentis - have a right to determine what their choices are for health care near the end of their life. Everyone should have this basic right, and whatever decision they make should be followed - it's THEIR decision.

massa is a kool-aid drinking sheep. a classic party line yes-man. These clowns(both parties)only know how to steal from us and use our money to keep their cushy jobs. all incumbants need to be voted out,but too many sheep just get in the booth and pull the party line. too many dumb, worthless americans are allowed to vote. you should be required to have a diploma(no ged) to vote. you should have no right to vote if you are on welfare. you should have to get off the couch and go register to vote and not just do it at the acorn booth at wal-mart. i have to go to work now. hey ted, how's hell treating you?

Do Democrats really believe for one second that Ted Kennedy's death changes the debate? Utter nonsense. I was at the town hall meeting and Massa got hammered! By 3 to 1 at least people in the auditorium were against health care reform. You libs can try the DNC talking points- 1)it's FOX News' fault (2)It's fear (3)the insurance companies are to blame and evil...bllah blah blah. The truth is- the bill is horrible, too costly and will eliminate choice(because by its nature the public option will drive OUT private industry). Massa got hammered, it showed, he is a failure, and he better get his resume ready for a new job in 2010.

How about if they just pick up the bill once in a while?

Also, you must be fun around the police. "Of course I was driving drunk. We the people don't need the government telling us what to do and when to do it."

Red Beard,
Unfortunately you do not have a vote, and the guy who does(Massa), said the following:
I will vote adamantly against the interests of my district if I actually think what I am doing is going to be helpful.(google "Massa" and "NetRoots"). Yeah, so much for government for and by the people.

50 million people in America live without health insurance, which puts their lives at risk should they develop a serious illness.

Let me say that again: 50 MILLION AMERICAN LIVES HANG IN THE BALANCE. Screw your politics. Your petty pathetic whining hissy fits at town halls don't help that.

Oh, a government run plan is evil? You know that road you drive around on? The one that's plowed and salted for you all winter? Government run. Those police officers that protect you while you sleep? Government run. The water you drink? The sewage that gets neatly taken away from your house? The sidewalks you walk on? The traffic lights? The air you breathe? The parks you visit? The beach you swim at?

The government is only good at and for running things that are not profitable but are a public good or commodity. The health care industry is only profitable at the expense of the people it helps, which borders on immorality considering health care is something that is necessary. Buying a house is not a life or death issue. Treating a disease often is.

People, all people, whether poor or rich, Christian or Muslim, black or white, free man and felon, have the inalienable right to live free from disease, and the answer to someone losing their good health should not be taking all their hard earned money as well.

Sorry, I do not trust the government to act in the best interest of the people. This is not because the media has instilled fear in me, this is because the actions of our government scream louder than words that this is way above the governements ability to handle this responsibly.

@LivinInRochester
YOU AND I both know that the 50 million figure is bogus. Most of that number is illegal immigrants- and American taxpayers should cover their expenses- why??????? As for the remainder of that 50mil- it is mainly people WHO CAN AFFORD but CHOOSE NOT TO BUY health insurance. Again, why should taxpayers shoulder their costs? Also, NO ONE in this country is denied health care- every hospital is legally obligated to treat anyone who shows up.

There is no such "inalienable right to live free from disease" and "good health"- that is an out-and-out lie. Your rights are those in the first ten amendements to the Constitution, and "Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness"...it does not say "Oh, and govt. provided health care" in our Constitution. Utter nonsense. You want health care- earn it! That's why when you work employers call them "health care benefits"- it's a BENEFIT of working, not a RIGHT!!

Give it up- the liberals have lost this one- all they are doing now is beating a dead horse that will cost them more and more votes, and seats, in the 2010 midterm elections!

The American citizenry slowed down this push, created a real debate, and killed this monstrous program- thank God! We will be vigilant and loud until it is OFF THE TABLE entirely.

Gareson: You want health care, earn it? You like overpaying for health care. You like paying for the insurance companies profits? You are tough guy huh - is it possible that you have not faced life without employer based health care? With the health care costs rising at the current rate, your employer will not afford health care and drop you. At that point, your tough talk about earning health care may change.

Very well said Gareson! I am sick and tired of helping those that don't want to help themselves and that's exactly what we would be doing with this bill!

Massa used health care to get elected.Promised and pledged to make it happen. Now he is positioning himself in a largely republican district. He promised health care to past workers and didn't provide it. He is a dissapointment.

Umm, "tough guy"- weird comment by you. As for cost of health care insurance, control it by de-regulating and TORTE REFORM! Yes my employer PAYS ME health care BENEFITS as part of my salary. Do you think such plans would really remain intact with a PUBLIC OPTION in place that would drive out private industry that could not compete with the government plan? Please. In the end we would all end up with an overburdened, underfunded, and RATIONED system- and all of our lives would be in danger- ask Canada, Britain and any other number of failed health care experiments.
