How very sad and tragic. My heart goes out to the family and friends of this young teen. I have a fearless 16 year old and pray everyday for his safety. I too have lost a cousin in go cart accident but he was hit by a car on a dirt road when he came out of the woods.

This story is so very sad and heart wrenching! My sister and I were tomboys growing up and did all sorts of things like this outside! I see a few people on here have already started putting down the kid, saying he must have been driving fast to get internal injuries, why was he riding in the road, just silly comments that don't need to be brought up. FYI it doesn't take driving fast to get internal injuries! Unless people are familiar with the Blanchard area, they would have no clue that it's very rural and kids and adults ride their 4 wheelers, snowmobiles and all their other "toys" in the roads out there all the time. Blanchard is a small community, so I really hope everyone comes together to help the family during their time of sorrow. My heart aches for the family and friends of this young man. How horrible to lose a child at such a young age!

Sorry - thought the individual was a girl because my granddaughter's name is Dakota. My mistake. My prayers are still with that family.

For anyone to have any comments other than those of comfort at a time like this is beyond human. This was truly a horrible accident and does not in any way change the fact that this was one, super, sweet, and wonderful young man who was loved by a most wonderful family. They are completely in shock over this. If love could have saved him, he would still be here today. So, unless you can be sensitive to this great loss and wonderful family, don't waste any ones time by posting a comment that's not worth reading. Besides, any of us may be the next accident waiting to happen. Think about it!!

It is very sad to lose a son, He was a very intellegent boy with lots of love. He did not do drugs, or alcohol and he was brought up in a very christian family. Please pray for the family to give then strength through this tragedy. They are still investigating the speed and what actually happened. I know this boy and family, God Bless them.

What type of go cart was it?How many kids have to die or be injured on foreign junk they sell everywhere and get away with it?
What? Was a Easy Go more likely to crash then a Club Car? Are you smoking too much? Did I miss something? Anyways, very sorry for the loss. Kids do dumb stuff sometimes. I sure did my share. R.I.P.

Right. Because if he did smoke pot and was atheist then the world would be a better place without him. Is that what you're saying?

Thoughts and prayers to the family...How many of us did things when we were young that weren't very smart? We were just fortunated we did not pay the ultimate price like this poor soul.
You're so right. It's a wonder kids grow up. Sometimes, when we're so young, we think we're immortal.

This is a young boy whom happens to be friends of many kids. One of them is my daughter. Kids will be kids, and it has been a very long winter. I would think you could comment on what a awful accident this one. And pray for the family to move on from this. Not give advise, or silly comments. He was a sweet 16 year old kid.. Innocent kid.. All I have to say is only the good dye young and there was a reason he has blessed so many any his short time here with all that knew him

Legal advice?? To help with their loss???!!!
Money doesn't cure stupidity. It's a shame a kid lost their life, but....Silly Wabbit. Roads are for cars. No reason to go hire an ambulance chaser unless it was a new go cart that was defective. Odds are it was a hacked together piece of junk wired together with coathangers.

MAYBE YOU SHOULD THINK ABOUT THOSE THAT READ THIS BEFORE OU POST SUCH HORRIBLE COMMENTS, NOT JUST TO YOU BUT TO ALL OTHERS WHO HAVE A NEGATIVE LOOK AT THIS. THIS WAS A TRAGIC ACCIDENT AND JOKES OR WISE CRACKS WON'T HELP ANYONE INVOLVED. AS HIS OLDER SISTER I AM ANGERED BY YOUR WORDS. HE WAS A YOUNG BOY THAT WAS DRIVING HIS GOCART ON A STREET THAT IS BY NO MEANS BUSY. FOR ALL OF THE READERS OUT THERE, DO NOT PASS JUDGEMENT ON SOMEONES ACTIONS UNTIL YOU KNOW THE FULL STORY. WE WERE ALL YOUNG ONCE AND WANTED TO TEST OUR LIMITS, SEE HOW FAR WE COULD GO, CODY IS LOVED BY MANY AND WILL BE MISSED DEEPLY. WORDS CAN LIFT A PERSONS SPIRIT OR THEY CAN SLAM IT INTO THE GROUND, I CHOOSE TO LIFT THEM UP, MAYBE YOU SHOULD DO THE SAME. STUPIDITY... HOW COULD YOU!
